Dr. Woodson he is a very nice man, but likes to talk a lot. My first appt was, I thought, for a skin check. First visit, he never even looked at me. Just sat in a chair and talked about his personal life. Then he told me skin checks are done in 2 appts. So not only do I jabe to wait another 3 months for an appt, but I have to come twice and pay 2 copay ($85) . And then he told me If somwthing needs to be removed, I will need to make a 3rd appt. It's all about the money for this guy. He could have checked me and removed anything in thr time he sat talking to me. Unless you have unlimited funds and time, avoid this guy.

There have been too many cancellations with teh reason being personal emergencies. Also, appts made are 3 mos minimum wait time, for bx procedures, and longer for skin checks

Since David Robles left Chaparral Medical Group about 2 years ago I have been seeing Johnnie Woodson. My needs are for skin inspections, biopsies and surgeries for skin cancer. I have had a history of melanoma, basal and squamous cell on multiple occasions. Woodson is very difficult to schedule, typically 3 months out. Wait times are 1-2 hours. He limits the visits to only an inspection, then wants to schedule biopsies for later apt, with max of 2 biopsies per visit. Then if he needs to surgically remove anything, this needs to be another visit, yes,...3 months out. While Woodson is a nice guy,...he has lots of stories, and stops performing any work on you while he is talking. This is probably why he is always late to see you. I have since changed insurance and am now back with Dr. David Robles. Robles got me on that same day where he completed a full body inspection and removed all biopsies recommended. Robles also does surgeries in the same apt as inspections and any additional biopsies. I can’t recommend Woodson but would highly recommend Robles.

Knowledgeable and Compassionate
I recently saw Dr. Woodson for the first time, for a pretty bad eczema flare up caused by a period of severe stress. I was so incredibly miserable when I walked into his office. I am SO glad that I saw him, and I plan for him to continue to be my dermatologist going forward. He was extremely kind and compassionate... I could not ask for a better "bedside manner" from a doctor. I could tell he cared and spent a lot of time with me coming up with a detailed treatment plan, including allergy testing which for some reason no other doctor had ever offered me. He spent a great deal of time explaining things to me, including the medications he was prescribing. I could tell he has a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience. And, he kept cracking me up, too, despite how miserable I was at the time. He was on time for the appointment; staff is very friendly. I don't know what else a person could ask for. I highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Woodson!!

I absolutely love the way that Dr. Woodson take his time with his patients. He has taken care of my skin for over 20 years. When ever I have a problem with acne or dark spots he always make my face look amazing again. Actually you have to wait at most doctors appointments, regardless of who the doctor is thaat you are seeing. I have never had a problem with the office staff.

After 3 visits to this practice I had to give up. Their communication and follow up is abysmal. Never met Dr. Woodson - although I was referred to his clinic he never once was there in my three visits and I only every saw a APRN. The only way I made my first appointment was having my insurance company get them on the phone and make them make an appointment with me - they never called me back for anything. Only reason I got 3 visits was because I kept scheduling follow ups in person. When I did visit, after always waiting at least 15 minutes past my appointment time, the staff were not very friendly, although the provider I saw was. The staff would always be prepped and want to do procedures before the provider had even come to talk to me to explain what was going on. The last straw - I was prescribed medication not covered by insurance and between pharmacy and myself no one could get through to get it changed or get a prior auth submitted. Good luck if you get referred here

I went to dr Woodson for treatment with severe chronic psoriasis. I was a patient for about 7 years, until recently moving out of state. I believe his specialty is psoriasis. My psoriasis is now under control thanks to his care and I hope I could find another doctor who can treat my condition as well. His office is sometimes a wait, as other mention, but that happens when you treat people. The office will let you know that hes running behind, or needs to reschedule. It has never affected my opinion of dr Woodsons care. I am appreciative of the care I received.

Seen Dr. Woodson for 4yrs. Started with his PA who is clueless. Seen Woodson & he could not figure out my bumps&rash all over and my hair growing inside my skin& increasing scalp hair loss. There is not enough room to list the countless issues. He canceled my appts 6times in 8 months as he was sick. Staff uncaring, never calls back or answers pharmacy fax. Was 5 min late after Dr canceled my last 3, and staff said hes doing procedures and I had to reschedule. I am worse now then when I started.

I simply love Dr. Woodson! I've been seeing him for about 6 years now and he's taken my skin to horrendous and embarrassing to absolutely amazing! I use to have awful acne but with Dr. Woodsons help I've been acne free for years now! He's helped calm my dry skin and my dry flaky scalp! Wait times can get pretty excessive, so I always try to make my appointments first thing in the morning to avoid that!

While I like Dr Woodson as a person,I have never been treated so poorly by a medical office in my adult years. All calls go to voice mail that go unreturned. Office manager and administrators do not have patiant care as a priority. Will no longer be going to this practice.

I had a terrible first experience with this office. I made an appointment for 8:45 and completed the online paperwork as instructed during scheduling. I arrived at the appointment 15 mins early only to be told I'd been marked a no show. She said l should have arrived 30 mins early. Scheduling NEVER communicated that and when I left and checked website it actually says 15 mins. I called to inform and they said Well, the website is wrong.....staff was rude and this was a colossal waste of my time.

The PA I saw was helpful and knowledgable. She gave me a sample of cream for my rash and said to call in for a script when the sample was gone. Problem was, I could never get the office to Call me back about the script. I left several messages, as did my pharmacist. This office is terrible about calling you back or filling prescriptions. I won't be going back.
