Definitely Not
There was a chip on the doctor's shoulder as soon as he came into the exam room. I hadn't even asked a question. It went downhill from there.

Insult to the Profession
My wife went to Scripps Mercy with significant health concerns that were quickly dismissed by both Ludwig and the ER nurse. They didn’t bother to run labs and the only “doctoring” that Ludwig performed was looking down her throat, which he pronounced “I don’t see anything. What do YOU want me to do?” He left and never returned. The nurse came back to discharge her and said, “This is an Emergency Room. We are here for emergent care!”. Scripps billed Blue Shield for 20 minutes of “service”/$150 co-pay and my wife ended up back in the ER 2 days later, only this time we went to UCSD, where they actually performed the necessary tests and provided a treatment plan. I don’t know if Ludwig was having a bad day but his demeanor and lack of medical attention was an insult to the profession.

I should have written this years ago when Dr. Ludwig took care of me in Scripps Emergency. He knew exactly what was going on with me and the crippling anxiety I was experiencing. Thanks to him and his care for the first time I started to feel better and got the help I needed to deal with this. Thank you dear Dr. Ludwig.

My Husband was seen by Dr Ludwig at Scripps Mercy Hospital, which is an in-network provider. However Dr Ludwug billed us as out of network with ZERO notice that he was out of Network (His listed phone number.is the Scripps number). Dr Ludwiq actually spent about 5-10 minutes with the patient, with the determination that a broken humerous was not an emergency and was sent home without even cleaning the numerous road-rash wounds. However the Dr's bill was for $1134.00. If we calculate the Dr's billing using a generous 15 minutes of time that comes to billing at $4536 dollars an hour.

Jon Keith Ludwig in ER is the most uncaring, unprofessional and most egotistical person I have experienced, EVER. With multiple weekly visits to Scripps for well over 3 years with one parent having contracted WNE 3 years ago, mother with Stage 4, etc I know the facility and employees well, would highly recommend ALL, until my personal experience 2 days ago. In a matter of 1 minute of him bursting into my World, after being in the E12+ hrs with no food or water, my condition is not normal and obviously beyond his capabilities, he sucked all hope and made my conditions immediately, and dangerously, worse. The way he conducts himself to overcompensate for his inability to care for others, his obvious personal stress or other issues, and his lack of education necessary, is a serious concern to patients and the hospital as a whole. This amateur is a serious risk and gives a great hospital an extremely negative image. Shame on you Ludwig, we will be speaking again.

I went to the ER with horrible chest pain and back pain. This man put me in a bed in the hall and did not even let me tell him my entire problem that was going on. He said we are going to discharge you ASAP. I walked out because I knew something was wrong. I went to Sharp direct from Dr Ludwig and Sharp took my blood and did proper scans and sure enough found a serious heart condition and I was immediately admitted. This man is so rude and if I had not went to sharp I could be dead. Thanks Mr. L

Thank you for the most amazing care! Visiting states from Canada and our daughter obviously got sick first day in San Diego. Ended up in ER and couldn’t have asked for a better care!
