First thing he said to me after entering the room was “ you know you can go blind from cataract surgery “. Well he wasn’t kidding about that, 5 months after surgery the retina in my left eye started to tear. Needed to go to specialists at VRS for emergency laser repair. 2 weeks later the retina in my right eye partial detached, that required regular surgery with a buckle and gas bubble put in my eye. Total nightmare which I thought would leave me with partial blindness. It didn’t end up that way but with the success of most cataract surgery, it makes me wonder how both eyes failed 2 weeks apart just like the surgery is done. I would not recommend him for cataract surgery ever period. Total failure

Very warm, helpful, spent thoughtful time with us and explained nicely to my mother at her ability to understand. Sent us to a specialist who had terrible bed side manner, but Dr. Engman was great.
