Caring, but not competent
Was unable to diagnose me with SIBO and C-Diff. I gave him all the symptoms of both and he didn't even mention them as possibilities (I did). Didn't test for them. Didn't do anything to help with my infections. I went to another GI in Portland they tested me for both. POSITIVE for SIBO and C-Diff. They started treating me.Nice guy, but needs a TON more medical training & education. Though in his defense--- NOBODY else at his old practice Mid-Valley GI did anything to diagnose or test me either.

10 out of 10 -would see again!
Dr. Hattenhauer is extremely personable, knowledgeable and say things in a way you can understand. He's treated my mother and myself this past year and we adore him. I can't say enough positive things about him to be honest. He caught my mother's colon cancer early and all she needed was a surgery. No Chemo, no radiation. She's cancer free!He's an outstanding Doctor!
