Dismissive and Does not Follow Required Protocol
I found his manner to be dismissive, condescending, and frankly uncaring. When he came into the room he briefly glanced at my skin condition, did not inspect closely or ask about signs or symptoms or history. He did not offer any treatment ideas, suggestions, or empathy of any kind. Rather, it was harsh and rude. He did not mention that he was providing a prescription and walked out without allowing further questions. I didn't even realize he was done and asked the nurses what to do and they said I would receive release papers. In these papers I was surprised to see a prescription that I would not be able to fill in a reasonable amount of time as it was night and had received no explanation of the medication at all.

Straight Shooter
We were sent to the St. Joe ER by my husband's surgeon. We sat there for 10 hours and then saw Dr. Hoover. He explained his findings thoroughly and directly. His beside manner was relaxed and reassuring. He then contacted my husband's surgeon and made sure follow-up instructions were given on how to proceed with the issue. It is a VERY busy ER as most cardiac patients go there by ambo and are seen before those in the waiting room...so for those that feel ER docs make you feel rushed....well yeah. They are rushed.
