Dr. Jonathan S. Maron was the anesthesiologist who placed my indwelling pain catheter before my rotator cuff surgery at Swedish Medial Center in June 2017. I should have been more proactive when the pain catheter was placed in my tissue when I experienced pain and the eyes of the pre-op nurse went wide, his eyebrows up and mouth open but I was under pre-op medications already. Post op while doing physical therapy I couldn't catch my breath, I couldn't breath. After a number of test with a pulmonologist I was given the diagnosis of a right hemi diaphragm paralysis due to damage to my phrenic nerve during the placement of the indwelling pain catheter before surgery.
