I went for a follow up for my lumpectomy. I was given a lecture on how people looking at MyChart and googling issues has ruined physician’s practices and knowledge. The following week, he lecture me again and told me that he was doing me a FAVOR to see me. He was very condescending and rude, and I left in tears. He made me feel as if the emergency room visit I had had a 1.5 weeks before was as all in my head and there was something wrong with me. I left the office sobbing. When you have to work, juggle radiation and all the complications that come with it, and then have a doctor treat you so poorly; it so demoralizing. Don’t see him.

I highly recommend Dr. Patterson to anyone who needs a doctor. He is a brilliant surgeon. When it was time for my surgery, I was not afraid. He came in the holding room and made me feel at ease. He assured me that everything would go fine and it did. My surgery was a success. He also inspired me to quit smoking. It's been two and a half years since I've stopped smoking. Thank you for saving my life, Dr. Patterson.

I was referred to Dr. Patterson for Breast Cancer surgery 5 1/2 years ago. He was compassionate and professional at a very difficult time in my life. Before my surgery Dr. Patterson reassuered usthat was everything would go well. He also communicated to my husband and loved one throughout the entire process. Almost two weeks ago Dr. Patterson removed my Porta Cath . Again, excellent and successful surgery. I never had any complications from the lumpectomy etc. His office staff and surgical team was out -standing. I highly recommend Dr. Patterson to anyone in need of a surgeon.

My husband needed surgery and was seen by Dr. Patterson. Our appointment was made by a caring and accommodating office staff. Dr. Patterson explained the procedure and made sure any questions were addressed. Methodist Hospital In Merrillville was outstanding. From the time we arrived for surgery, until my husbands release, I was kept informed of every step in his procedure. I would recommend Indiana Surgical to anyone .

Emergency stomach surgery
On June 2/2022 Dr. Patterson saved my life as I suffered severely with an emergency internal intestinal/colon issue. An emergency surgery was performed on the same day. I would highly recommend this wonderful surgeon to anybody. His follow up (and his professional office staff) was second to none. Thanks again.

Caring Doctor
No one ever expects to be told of those life changing words," It's cancer". That's when my relationship with Dr Patterson began. My first time meeting, I knew I liked him. He is very thorough, patient, kind, and easy to understand. In short, he makes sense. I am thankful our paths crossed. Thank you Dr Patterson for being such caring person.

The first visit I was examined and told what and how the doctor was going to repair my hernia. Answered all my questions and was made aware of allergies I had. The surgery went very good same day out patient. The follow up visit was good. The office personnel on both visits were professional and very courteous. Dr. Patterson explained what went on with my surgery and told me about what I could or couldn't do post surgery and recovery.

The staff ensured that I had a smooth prep for my umbilical hernia surgery, and follow-up. I am very happy I chose Methodist Hospital/out patient clinic in Merriville, IN, and would highly recommend to anyone.

Dr Patterson is a great surgeon. His explanations were precise about what was going to happen, what could happen and why. I felt very at ease; I was having a colon resection due to a cancerous tumor. He addressed every concern I had. Following his expert advice, I healed very quickly. My incision healed better than my c-section scar. I hope I won't have to see him again, but would seek him out should this occur again. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable. I felt I was taken care of in the best way possible.

Dr. Patterson is an outstanding physician. He navigated a very difficult and life-threatening situation and saved my life. He was open and honest every step of the way. My follow-up care was amazing and I felt comfortable asking for clarification and calling with questions or concerns (which were followed up with quickly). ×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Patterson?
Dr. Patterson was extremely rude and very unprofessional. I’m sure he’s a wonderful surgeon but he needs to learn how to speak to people and needs to not make judgment calls when all he knows about someone is what’s on the paper in front of him. No one should ever be made to feel like less of a person from someone who is suppose to help them or leave their office in tears from how they were spoke to. If you see this Mr. Patterson you should be ashamed of yourself for how you spoke to me
