My husband and I had our first appointment with Dr. Rothberg as our new PCP with Tufts Medical Center Community Care in Medford. We were very impressed with his knowledge and communication skills. He answered all our questions and since he reviewed our records before, he had many questions for us. He is very thorough and gave written notes to us with any instructions and recommendations from our meeting. We highly recommend Dr. Rothberg!!

Dr Rothberg is a kind and compassionate man; the staff around him makes it impossible to ask him clinical questions. I had my visit early December and it’s now end of April, and we’re still going back and forth… Different issues with this practice: 1) Miscommunication: I went in for an annual; since other symptoms were observed, this turned into an outpatient visit. I needed to get annual labs, which included one measurement that was also considered important for the outpatient visit. When I get the bill and the labs, not only I get a 500$ bill, I also never get the annual labs done. Instead, I get values for other, unrequested labs which I had explicitly asked to not undergo if they weren’t routine (because I was afraid such a situation may happen). According to the office manager, Alexa, I must pay because the labs were done – my explicit request counts nothing (neither was it mentioned in the encounter, despite making this point clear during the visit – dr. Rothberg himself said, i

Mother went to Dr. Rothberg with issues which certainly signal SINGNIFICANT health issues. She's 86, has Afib, lesions on legs that are irritated, weeping puss, redness and heat, recent extreme hearing loss, vision loss, anxiety (a global pandemic & health issues, you know). Rothberg was the epitome of the dismissive doc. Never looked at her legs, couldn't find a BAND-AID to cover it (really? a BAND-AID?), looked in ears - said he could clear them; no time to. Never mind the anxiety and her Afib. Nice! He didn't "believe" in meds for anxiety. GREAT guy to see in a panic attack! NVMD my Mum hasn't EVER requested an aspirin. Ears may be bacterial-provided no hearing test. Worried about veins in legs-LESIONS appearing, and last bn least, dismissed my sharp still working (unlike him) Mum as some "elderly woman". Someone clearly unimportant. Was so relieved she was seeing a PCP in person. Hers left. Don't see this guy if u need competence, DECENCY, or compassion.U CAN DO BETTER!

Dr. Rothberg is friendly, knowledgeable and understanding. As many doctors do, he doesn't dictate to you. He discusses your options and helps you understand all consequences of your own choices.
