Had him see me in the ER and he had very poor bedside manners. It appeared that he assumed since I wasn’t physically vomitting when he came in to see me that I was faking it. I had told him that I had gotten my gallbladder removed and he continuously brushed off that major piece of my medical history and instead insisted that I had acid refux as any doctor that is too lazy to do a quick search would say. By the time I saw him I had been unable to keep anything down for the past 3 days and had been throwing up pure bile constantly. The burns in my esophagus created much discomfort and Schiffman’s only suggestion was to test for strep… I am a 23 year old female and before receiving my IV he was saying how I better not act like a little child and cry and run away when getting it. I am very disappointed in his service and hope to never encounter him again. It’s scary enough to be in pain, and then to have your own doctor invalidate that pain is worse.

Went to Valley Hospital ER with a lacerated big toe that required a flap skin graft. The ER was busy so Dr Schiffman volunteered to handle some adult cases, mine included. I was quite anxious but Dr Schiffman's calm, confident, and reassuring demeanor was comforting. His examination was thorough and he really assessed what the best approach would be. The followup doctor for suture removal first asked me if a plastic surgeon did my sutures. I can not say enough good things about Dr Schiffman
