Dr. Jose Castellanos, MD

Good morning my name is Rafael and I am a patient of Dr. Jose Castellanos.. I have been with him for years and I don't know why I still go there.. I had been asking him to sign off on my Gastric Sleeve surgery for years and he would never do it. Even though I was prediabetic, I had high blood pressure, gout, and severe sleep apnea and a body mass of 55%. I had to beg him for years and he finally gave in and no all my comorbidities are gone. On my last visit to Dr. Castellano complaining about chronic back pain and other issues. I was told by him that all of my concerns were wishy-washy and that I needed to pick one thing on my last visit. I was in a lot of pain. Pain level must have been like a 14 and he had the nerve to tell me that by looking at me he did not believe the pain I was in and he would not approve me for any time off of work or disability. The ER admitted to the Hospital and MRI showed that I had ruptured the disc in C6 C7 vertabrae and needed emergency surgery!

The doctors at this office are great Dr Castellanos Sr is super attentive and actually listens to what the patient has to say. Dr Julie is great as well, she is thorough with her explanations and both have great customer service skills

Worst office staff EVER. Only one reason how a receptionist this inept keeps her job. This office will ask a negative reviewer to find another doctor. This is a scare tactic used to keep positive ratings high and negative ratings low

Very nice doctor. Takes his time to speak with you and explain your condition. Follows up on long term care. Staff is also very nice and works with you to accommodate appointments.

Dr. Castellanos office is a great family practice. Accomodating and kind office staff, they always try to accomodate you with appointments for the same day if possible. Always on time. No long waits. Knowledgeable, no non-sense diagnosis and cures. The Dr. doesn't dumb it down for you and clearly explains his diagnosis, procedures and treatments. Overall, great service, convenient location and hours. Available for questions and the office is great at filling and refilling prescriptions.

Stay away is all I can say. Very rude and unprofessional staff. They tried to charge me for an "missed appointment" that was never confirmed, they never got my insurance information and on top of that the administrator even admitted the girl setting the appointments should have never booked the appointment in the first place but yet kept arguing that I should pay anyways. It took about 15 minutes of him arguing with me for him to say "I'm not going to charge you, now let's just go our separate ways" wow! Top notch people they have working here. Look somewhere else if you're looking for a helpful friendly staff.

Unprofessional and rude. Dr. Castellanos and his Office Manager aka his son are better businessmen I’m sure and care more about their bottom line than their patients. I called to express my discomfort with an off color remark made by Dr. Castellanos himself during my visit. I was directed to the office manager who was nothing but unprofessional. When I asked for an apology for the doctors remarks he flippantly said, “yeah that’s not going to happen”.

Terrible experience, the staff is very unprofessional and don't seem to care for patients.
