Uninformed Doctor
I went in because I was experiencing trauma. He recommended I go see a psychiatrist or psychologist which was a good recommendation. When I looked at the notes he wrote about me he wrote everything i told him which was fine but at the very end he wrote that I was cognitively impaired. I am NOT cognitively impaired, I’ve experienced trauma. If he doesn’t know anything about trauma then he needs to save his incorrect comments for the water cooler. I do not recommend seeing this doctor. He has the power to write things about you that are not even remotely true. capital Q for quack right here. Save yourself the trouble of having to get something that is completely untrue about you removed from your file. It also looks like he has misdiagnosed other patients as well.

Friendly and communicative
Dr. Atkinson seemed interested in me as a person and spent as much time as needed to answer all of my questions. He's very sharp and obviously keeps up to date on the latest research.

Misdiagnosed ne
Took many months for me to finally get a correct diagnosis after surgery and I knew something was really wrong. Kept going for more tests. Finally on 4th ER visit a doctor checked my B12, which was low. Dr A didn’t think it was significant. When I dug into it, I learned the test range goes too low. Neuro symptoms occur above the range minimum. I’m thankful mine was below that or I would not be alive today as b12 deficiency is deadly. I had to push Dr A to test me for pernicious anemia (was positive) and to start b12 injections. He thought I needed an antidepressant. Kaiser is a joke when it comes to properly treating this disease, it’s not a one size fits all. I’m so thankful for my naturopath who prescribes it lot more often.

Misdiagnosed my issue 3 separate times. when I had an appointment for 3 months to get a CAT scan on my brain , He sent me to his assistant because he had “more important patients” to tend to. The Assistant couldn’t help me cuz the seriousness required a doctor and so I had to schedule another appointment and wait another 3 months

Listens and cares. I am lucky I found this doctor. As a result of his diagnosis I am able to breath much better. I thought I was declining from old age or a heart condition. Now I feel I can go exercise again. Thanks

Dr. Atkinson treated me in Urgent Care, the 2nd time I came in. I was pre diagnosis brochure of Hep A the 1st time. However, Dr. Atkinson was surprised because according to the new lab test and symptoms of a side ache probably meant I had something else. He was very helpful in laying out the possibilities and took that extra step to get more blood tests, referred diagnostic imaging and spoke to a specialist. He thinks on his feet and takes the extra steps to ensure your diagnosis is accurate!
