Dr. Joseph Bender, DPM

The lobby was VERY crowded; the wait was long. I saw him twice. The first time he took a nail sample to test for fungi. After a month wait for 2nd appointment, he said it was fungi. I asked him to remove the nail that was already loose. He did, reluctantly. He left about one third of the nail. He did not recommend a 3 rd appointment. Told me to use over the counter medication and gave me a couple of toe protectors. The remaining nail is now beginning to hurt. I have called my insurance company and waiting to get a referral to another podiatrist. I would not recommend Dr. Bender to ANYONE. If that is not his specialty , he should have said so. Thank you.

Am sorry I ever went. Dr. Bender gave me sole inserts to correct my shorter leg and a painful arthritic foot. He got the inserts mixed up and the thicker one was put under the longer leg, making it longer. The shorter leg ended up with the thinner insert sole, and was left not corrected. This made my walking more painful. The arthritis in the foot was a new diagnosis and I thought that the pain I kept feeling was normal when you have arthritis. The mistake was found over a year after. No apology, no advice, no follow up appointment were offered. I had to insist for my old inserts ( the "wrong ones" ) to be given back to me, I wanted to keep them. My foot with the new thicker insert is now always feeling crushed and painful. If given inserts, make sure they are not mixed up!

Dr. Bender treated my father and we are thankful for his bedside manners and detailed explanation of the procedure. Very accesible and answered all our answers and concerns thoroughly. Would absolutely recommend him to my family and friends.

My wife has seen Dr Bender many times. She has always been happy with his care and friendly bedside manner. We would not hesitate to recommend him to our friends.

I saw Dr Bender this week. The comment above must be from a person on another planet! Rest assured Dr Bender’s office is above and beyond expectation. When I entered the office, if there were 30 chairs available, 15 were empty. I was greeted immediately. I promptly saw one assistant after another. At least 4. They took my blood pressure, they checked my blood glucose, they took my current medications, they called and faxed to get my past surgeries/X-rays. My shoes and socks removed, they washed/removed the lint (from my new socks). When Dr Bender came in his smile lite up the room. He didn’t just look at my feet, he had me push with them, pull with them, attempt to raise them. He checked the circulation in my feet, he looked for irritations and sores. He noticed i had one leg longer than the other and gave me tips to tell my orthopedic surgeon. He then left and came back with thinner and thicker shoe inserts to temporarily help the problem. He went beyond expectations.

You're not a patient, you're a number. Showed up early for appt, waited over an hour in the standing room only waiting room. It was insanely overbooked and the staff doesn't care. If you want to feel like cattle herded in to the pen this is your place. If you want to get care and see a doctor go somewhere else. Absolutely no care or concern for patients here.
