Dr. Joseph Cohen, DDS

I get bills from this guy and I have never met him and do not know what they are for. I believe other DDS offices use him when they are not reputable enough to have their own name show up on a bill. Any practice that is associated with this guy should not be trusted.

Poor outcome with splints led to Dr. Cohen berating me. The only reason, according to him, that I would not improve is if I failed to follow instructions. Also billed multiple times for same visit/treatment.

Referred for TMJ from my Dentist after whiplash and my complaint of my Jaw not alining properly. I have a Pain Specialist, a Neurosurgeon, and a Neurologist currently testing and evaluating my condition and treatment options. I went to this provider for a mouth piece or something to help with teeth grinding and Jaw alinement. This Doctors First questions and concerns were in regard to my legal representation and if He would be paid as an expert witness $$. Then He proceeded to tell me that my Neurologist my Neurosurgeon my Pain Management Doctor were all wrong and He would take me off my Opioid Pain Meds and cure my pain! When I questioned Him about His absurd demand to take over all my treatments, the Doctor got upset with me and refused to treat me!! I went for a mouth guard or some help with grinding my teeth at night, TMJ, not for Neurological Treatment nor Pain Management as I am very happy with my Doctors. I could not run crying from this Doctors Office fast enough!

Dr Virk who works for Dr Cohen NEVER looked at the 2 x-rays he took and billed me for 4 high priced x-rays. He only wanted to shot me up with lidocaine when the discs are out of place so lidocane did nothing!!!

Dr. Cohen was my doctor at A.T. Still University. He is arrogant, rude, insulting and hostile man that I’ve ever met. We were talking about my neck pain, I wanted to add that I’ve had a discectomy with fusion, but before I could even get words out, he yelled “It’s IRRELEVANT WHAT YOU THINK!!”. He mocked me, got in my face and said “Do you chew with your front teeth??”, as he made the motion with his, three inches away. Each time I saw him was an insult, a mock. He ordered that two molars be pulled right off the bat, I asked the student why, she said without hesitation”They’re decayed.”. So I had them pulled. I then found out they were perfectly fine! I asked Dr. Cohen why, he shrugged his shoulders and smirked, “We’re human.”, and walked away. He always walked away after an insult. I could give more examples, so many more. This jerk shouldn’t be allowed near other humans. He is the worse to date in my 63 years of life. A more reprehensible man you’ll not find.

I see Dr. Cohen at AEGD in Mesa, AZ. I have been seeing him for about 2 years now for TMJ, headaches, migraines, and pain in jaw, neck and shoulders (I also have fibromyalgia, neuropathy and adrenal fatigue). Every 2-4 weeks I receive trigger point injections with lidocaine and dry needling in muscle knots in temples, jaw, neck and shoulders, as well as occipital nerve block. His treatments have given me the most relief of any other tx method I have tried (which is A LOT)! He's a life saver!!

When you go to a doctor you look forward to answers. The first doctor I have ever gone to in over 26 years that they didn?t and wouldn?t answer questions. Dr. Cohen refused to even look at my x-rays from my primary dentist and told me he would answer my questions at my next appointment after my testing done. Little did I know that the tests the splints for my mouth would come out to a total of $1,888 !!! Seriously??? I had to spend that much money. Office staff (Glenda) is horrible! Dont go!
