Dr Hawkins is good at explaining the details of osteoporosis and how various drugs work on how bone density works. However, he is not patient when you have questions about what he thinks is best for you. He seems to not want to address concerns you may have re: the treatment course he wants you to be on, even if you are concerned with side effects and such. He seems to tune you out at this point and want the examination over with.

Dr. Hawkins has been my doctor for almost twenty years and I highly recommend him. I have never felt rushed by him or his staff. He spends time answering any questions I may have. He provides clear answers. He is knowledgeable, kind and caring. His staff are also polite and helpful.

Dr. Hawkins himself is wonderful. However his PA, his nurse and especially his office staff are some of the worst I have ever experienced. Customer service and patient care are not in their vocabulary. Both the PA and the nurse contradict the doctor. The office staff are cold and uncaring. I'd go to the doctor agai but the staff is impossible.

Dr Hawkins is very knowledgeable and takes the time needed to explain everything to you. He is able to answer most of my questions and the ones he could not he researched. I have seen a few Endocrin doctors and he is by far the best doctor I have seen. I would recommend him. His staff is also very kind and polite.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hawkins for approx. 15 years due to a complex endocrine system failure. This man has gone out of his way to help me and has helped to improve my quality of life tremendously.
