I went to the emergency room with abdominal pain, Dr Lofaro is by far the worst doctor, very rude and no empathy at all! Do yourself a favor and call before going to the ER at Saint Clare’s, if he’s there, you better go to Morristown Memorial

Went to emergency with toddler with burns. Doctor barely looked at my kid, no empathy, and quickly dismissed us saying it was only 1st degree burns and prescribed a tiny cream container. Since the burn was so big the container only lasted a day and we werent allowed refills bc the doctor didn’t specify it was a large area (probably because he barely saw my child). Instead I go to a burn center and they confirm that it’s 2nd degree burns and the amount of cream prescribed is wrong. Never bringing my child to Saint Clare’s to be with doctor Joseph R LoFaro again. Unempathetic, uncaring, and dismissive

Terrible! This was my second time seeing this “doctor”. I remember the first time he was not very helpful. This time he was counterproductive and downright rude. I will go to another ED if he is the attending physician. I thought i had a parasite from an uncomfortable and itchy rash i had. He told me it wasn’t that and to go see a dermatologist. I asked him what he thought it was and he said he didn’t know bc it wasn’t an emergency. (Middle of the night and very uncomfortable). After waiting to be discharged i went to the nurses station to ask if I needed to do anything else (aka hurry up, I’d like to go home and take Benadryl). He told me to wait in my room for the (also rude) nurse. As the nurse was discharging me, she asked to see my rash and I asked her why if no one was going to help me. She said well it’s not what you said it is so we can’t help you. Oh I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that you had to accurately self diagnose before you went to the ED in order for the doctor to help you

I only go to ER if I have to. Luckily only a few times in my life. Dr. LoFaro was professional, caring, and respectful. He asked questions and attentively listened to all my answers. He made me feel safe and taken care of. He’s extremely knowledgable and intelligent. Thank you Dr. LoFaro

I'm not sure why this "doctor" is credited with ER specialty. The nurse told me that my adult daughter who was doubled-over in pain was probably going to need an ultrasound of the abdomen. He comes about an hour later and says that he's ordering an ultrasound. About 2 hours later, after the US, he comes back and claims that he cannot tell by the US if she had gastritis or an ulcer. She should follow up with her PCP. Then I get a bill for $716 for his services: ER dept - $628; Med Serv 10PM-8AM 24hr. -$88.00. Although St Clare's Hospital in in-network with HorizonBCBS, he claims that he's out-of-network (NO WARNING FROM HOSPITAL). Horizon is willing to pay "allowed amount", but says the bill is "excessive" and I should only pay the subscriber responsibility portion. Is Saint Clare, Dover, NJ aware of what this "MD" is doing???

Saw Dr @ Sr Clare's Dover- I am scared to go back to this hospital because of this dr. I was seen for about 5 mins and he had terrible bedside manner. With dr's like this it is scary to even be treated in an ER for help...Anyone going to an ER obviously is there because they are desperate. He had no concern for me.

This doctor should not be practicing medicine. I went to the emergency room with fever, chills high blood pressure and pelvic pain and he did not listen to any of my concerns and told me he wanted to give me medicine for anxiety and depression !!!!! Not even two hours later my doctor sent me to Denville Saint Clares where I was diagnosed with a urinary track infection And the beginning of a kidney infection which means my urine was never even checked when I was at Dover Saint Clares!so scary

If I could give a zero I would. If he’s at your emergency room leave and go to a different emergency room. Zero bedside manner and does not examine thoroughly. He barely even looked at my 2 year old and sent me off. He spent 2 minutes with us, not professional and not the type of doctor I’d ever go to for myself.
