Dr. Joseph Militello, MD

Please read before making an appointment. Dr Militello scheduled by father for cataracts surgery in August. They did surgery on one eye and let my father know he'd have to wait a couple weeks to have surgery performed on the other eye. Weeks turned into months. My fathers vision getting worse by the day. Finally, 8 months later the doctor finally said he'd complete the surgery. My gather got a call confirming his appointment. He then received another call a couple days later letting him know the doctor retired and my fathers surgery was cancelled. They did not provide an solutions, just let him know he was out of luck. My father is now nearly blind and has to start all over.

6 minutes with the Doc, no discussion, no QA, he refused to do the complete order. Seemed as tho revenue generating appointments was more important than the health of the patient.

I was impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the staff at both the office and the surgical center. Suffice it to say, Dr. Militello has brightened up my life which was dulled for too many years. I am recommending his services to as many people who will listen. Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr Militello and his staff. Go see him if you can. You won’t be disappointed.

For the first time in my life I am able to see clearly with 20/20 vision due to my amazing cataract surgery with Dr. Joseph Militello at Bayonet Point Outpatient facility. Prior to the first surgery I could not clearly see print in books or road signs or distinguish faces at a distance. Because of allergic reactions to many medications, I was hesitant to undergo the cataract procedure. Dr. Militello and anesthesia at Bayonet Point Outpatient facility worked together to facilitate a solution to my problem and my surgery went remarkably well. There were no problems whatsoever and the painless recovery was perfect. Surgery on my other eye was exactly the same success. I cannot give enough accolades to Dr. Militello for his outstanding, professional surgeries and efficient process for after surgery care. Dr. Militello has changed my eyesight and I am grateful to him every day for the gift of perfect vision. There is not a moment's hesitation to highly recommend Dr. Joseph Militello.

Dr. Militello understood my fear, was very kind, and explained everything that he would be doing. Because of his caring and his skill, the second procedure was a breeze. I want to praise Dr. Militello and his office staff as well as the staff at the Bayonet Point Surgery and Endoscopy Center. I got my first pair of glasses at 5 years old. Every eye exam since had included a prescription increase. I was using trifocals to get correction that was less then good and then came the cataracts. Today I am living without glasses for the first time I can remember. Dr. Militello performed a miracle. I was anxious about the procedure and the cost. Every thing was explained completely and all my question answered. I was so pleased by the short waiting times on the appointments, the gentle and good-humored staff and the clear explanation of costs. Also, I found the cost very reasonable. I would advise anyone needing cataract surgery to see Dr. Militello.

I have been going to this office for years, now, and they are so VERY professional and the entire staff is 'always' friendly, caring, efficient and if not for 'real'... they pretend to be in a good mood!! I would first like to thank Dr. Militello for giving me my clear vision back. I just had my second eye done. Everything related to my procedure from the first meeting to the second eye being done was a pleasure. Completely painless the entire time. He, and his entire staff, were so comfortable from start to finish. If you are in this area please consider Dr. Militello for your care. I am lucky he was recommended by my PCP. I am typing this without glasses!!!!

Since Doctor would not see me after referral from Sprong Hill Regional ER because I am self-pay with cash in hand, I can tell everyone this physician cares NOTHING about caring for people.

Militello performed surgery on me over a year ago. Neither he nor I was satisfied. He stated he could not repair his damage & sent me to another surgeon. Militello promised to pay my out of pocket costs BUT he conveniently forgot to sign his own refund agreement. I now have scar tissue on my eyelid. I possess 1400 pages of Physician's documentation for anyone's viewing. This is my own experience & opinion ref: Militello. Choose your Ophthalmologist wisely.

When vision became increasingly blurry, I finally knew I needed an eye exam. After waiting more than 5 yrs. because of an offputting experience with last doctor, I finally found Dr. Joseph Militello. What a difference. He explains what is happening, what options you have correcting it, and doesn't make you wait forever once you make your decision! His office staff is excellent, professional and caring. Being in a wheelchair I never felt I was an after thought as he has an exam room that accommodates us!! Surgery Center staff were also professional, excellent and caring. The follow-up was great. Never felt "treated" as much as included and informed in all parts of my eye care. Definitely recommend. If had more eyes, I'd go back again. Lol

Dr. Militello is a top notch Doctor, very knowledgeable, kind and caring, his concern for his patients is second to none. His staff is very good and skilled.
