Dr. Joseph Mulcahy, MD

Dr. Joseph Mulcahy performed a hernia operation on both my right and left side in January of 2020. I selected him because of his experience and knowledge; his careful explanation of my options and his willingness to listen to my concerns. His Office provided clear instructions as to what to do prior to the operation, and following the operation several sheets of detailed instructions for follow-up, wound care, and other matters. Very minor pain problems following the operation, a good follow-up visit and a friendly staff. Everything went as well as it possibly could have, and I felt completely recovered within a couple of months, though I am careful not to stress myself unduly. I am an 82 year old retired University Professor with relatively few visits to a hospital in my life. I give Dr. Mulcahy my highest recommendation. A good man who knows his specialty.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer & was assigned Dr. Mulcahy. After seeing many doctors & feeling lost, what an encouraging surprise meeting him was for me! He really listened to my symptoms & concerns, & offered great insight for taking control of my health. 2-yrs later, he was my surgeon for a misbehaving gall bladder. Both surgeries were extremely successful. I feel so confident in recommending this fine surgeon & fine person! Great sense of humor too!

My father had two cysts on his body and his doctor scheduled a consultation with Dr. Mulcahy so he could look at them. As soon as the doctor entered the room we had a bad feeling. He started by asking my father if he is a smoker. He has been smoking for years, enjoys it, and has no plans to quit. But,the good doctor wouldn't let it go. He drained one and we went to schedule a date for the other one, and he started in about smoking again. He laughed at my father for smoking. We left & wont return

Dr. Mulcahy is an outstanding surgeon. He's done several procedures and one operation on me. Has always been very forthcoming in what he knows and for that matter, what he doesn't know. Follows up well and genuinely cares for his patients.
