Dr. Joseph O'Connell, MD

I have been going to Dr. O'Connell for 17 years. The folks leaving negative reviews seem highly suspect, as Dr. O always walks in with a smile, a good attitude, and listens to all my questions and concerns. No, he doesn't charge extra for questions, nor does he charge for multiple visits for a single visit. Dr. O is straight to the point and always provides excellent service. Highly Recommended!

Condescending and shaming

I've been using Dr O'Connell for more than ten years and he's aways been dependable, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.

I’ve been seeing Dr O’Connell for 5 years. He’s very easy to talk with, always encourages questions and doesn’t make me feel rushed. He helps me effectively and proactively manage my health and readily refers me to a specialist the few times I have possible issues that required a specialist. It’s typically fairly easy to get an appointment (though he does have a PA to cover for emergency needs when he’s not available) and I’ve never had to wait an long once in the office, nor have I ever had billing issues. I like that the office is not in an office or a major medical clinic and parking is readily available.

Great bedside manner. Excellent at explaining diagnosis and treatments. Easy to get in to see. All healthcare is expensive these days but have always received a good value at First Care. Highly recommended

I have been a patient of Dr Joe O’Connell since moving to NWA six years ago. He diagnosed me with Type 2 Diabetes and has treated me for many complications from that and age related conditions. Has never denied to see me promptly, sometimes immediately for sudden onset of a real problem causing pain and distress. I trust him and his staff. I am totally pleased with my care. Also, he does accept Medicare. He is worthy of five full stars and would give more if I could.

this doctor does not introduce himself to patients when he walks in, not personable. he charges for extra questions as for extra visits. so you make one visit and he bills for two. he does not even take a look at your condition and prescribes something he thinks the problem is, and if it does not work, well, then come back! he will make another $300

Dr. O'Connell has been FANTASTIC! I've recommended him to at least two people who are now his patients and have heard raving reviews from other friends. If you're looking for a primary care doctor who uses common sense, has a great bedside manner, and takes the time to LISTEN to your situation go see Dr. O'Connell. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and his nurse always gets back to me quickly. Great team!

This clinic is a ripoff. They charged me a very high flat rate ($200) for a procedure that took less than 5 minutes and cost less than $5 in medical supply costs. This was on top of the office visit fee. The billing is done through MANA so you have no contact with the people at the clinic once you receive the bill. Very unsatisfied with this clinic. No personalized care, as you are billed at flat fees and not based off what was actually done.

Do not go to this clinic...lost med records twice...will not accept medicare...waited 3 weeks for appt. Only to be turned away because of medicare which they knew i had..patients beware...

Dr. O'Connell is a physician who truly cares about his patients. I am recently diagnosed with breast cancer. My oncologist said I did not need any blood work prior to starting me on meds with potentially serious side effects. It was Dr. O'Connell who took the time to have labs done and prescribe medications accordingly. When he is with you, you are is only concern. He takes time to get to know his patients. He follows up with a letter explaining lab results and adds notes of encouragement.
