Dr. Joseph Pietrangelo, MD

I have another dermatologist that I have been seeing for years. Recently I developed a skin condition that I had never experienced before. I researched what the symptoms were and there was a possibility of a serious condition not specifically related to skin but internal. My dermatologist seemed to think it was unnecessary to pursue a more complete resolution. I made an appointment with Dr Pietrangelo and he was immediately interested in performing biopsies to rule out my concern or confirm my fear. He cared about my state of mind as well as my skin. Not rushed. Not targeting that ‘15 min window’ for medical claim purposes. Really appreciate him.

Dr. Pietrangelo is everything you hope to find in a dermatologist. Up-to-date knowledge with the latest advancements in dermatology, smart, excellent communication skills, thorough, caring demeanor, respectful, in-depth clinical experience, patient with the patient (listens carefully, answers all questions, and does not make you feel rushed). He is accessible and has been very responsive to my needs and requests. His office staff is excellent as well. Dr. Pietrangelo's office is modern and in a safe and easy to find location. I have gone to Dr. Pietrangelo for a number of years, and I have always received five-star treatment!

Before Dr. Pietrangelo, I was going to an extremely popular dermatology clinic in East Memphis. My condition was not managed well, and they were unwilling to make adjustments to my treatment. I am so glad I found Dr. Pietrangelo! As others have said, he is the only one who was able to successfully treat my condition. His practice is focused on medical dermatology instead of cosmetic dermatology which is refreshing. Also, there was very little wait time which is rare.

Knowledgeable, professional, personable, actively listens. What more could you ask for? Whatever it is, he’s probably got that covered as well!

My husband was sent to check on a spot back. It was fine,but Dr. Pietrangelo saw a brown spot on inside right wrist area which he did a biopsy for Melanoma. IT was positive. He referred us to a fine cancer surgeon Dr. Martin Irving. Good results no invasive cancer on Melanoma. For two years my husband sees Dr. Joseph Pietrangelo every three months. Jim my husband had never seen Dr.Pietrangelo before the first visit. Dr. Pietrangelo’s quick recognition of Melanoma helped save Jim’s life. Yes, we have and will continue to recommend Dr.Joseph Pietrangelo.

I saw Dr. Pietrangelo to remove a suspicious mole. He was extremely kind, professional and gave me more time than any other derm has. You can tell he really cares about his patients and wants them to feel comfortable asking questions and understanding the procedure. His staff is warm and friendly. One of the best medical experiences I’ve had. Feel very fortunate to be in his care.

Dr. Pietrangelo found and removed a skin cancer I had not suspected. He also removed a cyst that was bothersome. Communication with him and his staff was great!

I would definitely recommend Dr. Pietrangelo. He is very easy to talk to, answered all my questions, and didn't make me feel rushed during my appointment. He also called me back HIMSELF to review test results I had sent from my previous dermatologist. I have never had a doctor call me personally before.

Called the morning of the visit and my 5 yr old was a new ptn on top of that. He had a terrible rash. Dr Pietrangelo agreed to see him and we couldn't have been luckier. He did a thorough exam and explained everything well and made sure we understood. He also went at the problem aggressively. I was so impressed that I scheduled an appt for my other child. He deftly earned new clients that won't mind the 2 hour drive! Very professional and down to earth doctor. Staff is also top notch!!!

The dermatologist I had originally seen a few years ago has left the practice and I was assigned Dr Pietrangelo. Zero complaints ... he answered my questions and conducted a thorough exam of the areas I was concerned about. He also saw a couple of spots that he thought warranted a closer look. Dr Pietrangelo is professional in his demeanor and clearly cares about his patients. I recommend him without reservation and consider him to be my "go to" dermatologist.
