Sassano almost killed me.
Went initially to establish a PCP relationship to investigate nipple discharge and breast mass that had been identified previously by Mammogram, ultrasound and MRI. They all came back 'likely benign' although each test stated a high margin for error due to the complexity and density of my breast tissue. Dr. Sassano and his incompetent staff were rude as they told me they still could not explain the bloody discharge from my nipple. When I demanded some sort of answer for what was causing this, I was advised I was worrying over nothing; they'd given me 'the Cadillac of workups'. I demanded further testing so they ordered the ductogram at my request and sent me a certified letter in the mail dismissing me as a patient and giving me 30 days to find another physician. The ductogram suggested a biopsy and within 24 hours after the first appointment with the NEW PHYSICIAN, I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. He needs to lose his license.

First Visit Today. Just Great!
Everything, from pre-visit corresp. to visit, was all I could ask for. Just good feelings. Very nice office, in a nice shopping area. Doctor Sassano took all the time I wanted to ask questions or for advice. A really positive doctor visit and I look forward to future care.

Discharged
I was discharged from the practice, and wasn't even told about it after going for 3 years. I was on my way to the appointment and called to confirm. Real classy !! They are so money hungry and cold, terrible practice.

Been a patient for a lot of years. First was seen by Doctor Sossona but then without being asked ,has me seeing Practioner. Make sure to have hours to wait. You go in at scheduled time but have waited for more than hour to be seen, even just for labs. Started out great but fill now just another Doctor out for the dollar. Need to find another. Have certain prescription that I will be taking the rest of my life but prescribed for three months then have to go back in for all the same testing. They have helped me through some trying times but just don't feel the concern

Updating my review; Dr. Sassano has a very good bedside manner and when you get the opportunity to get his attention I believe he is thorough. I left the office because of his office manager. I ignored previous reviews as kindness usually begets kindness. I made an appt for a yearly exam and had to cancel, could not get back in for 6 months, I showed up in another 6 mos and she told me I was seeing another doctor, not Dr. Sassano; this was not ok with me; again, had to wait for another 6 mos later at what I thought was appt time, upon arrival she told me I was half hour late and could not get back in for another 6 mos. This woman's demeanor and attitude are not nice, no unkind words were said, I just told her I'm sorry, I need to find another doctor and left.

I have been going to Dr. SassanoS office now for about 8-10 years. Great guy and it’s convenient to make a walk in Dr. my primary with a busy medical job. I also saw Nurse practitioner Sophia my last emergency visit and she was great!

We always say that it is the kindness, expertise, and yes love that we felt for 15 years from Dr. Joe that my husband, jazzviolinist Svend Asmussen, lived to almost 101 years and was mentally fit to the end. Dr. Joe is the best doctor and empathetic and warm. Great and friendly staff. The best!

Dr. Sassano is the most caring, compassionate physician that I have ever experienced. I know many Doctors because I’ve been in Nursing for 40 years. He never makes you feel rushed. He explains everything, never assumes that I know what he’s talking about. My entire family has him as a primary physician, completely satisfied with his judgment. His office staff are always pleasant and helpful.

1. Staff is very professional and knowledgeable 2. With an appointment, I see the doctor within 15 minutes of my apointment time 3. Dr. Sassano listens to me, asks appropriate questions to gather more information when necessary 4. Spends the time to go over all test results, in depth, leaving no questions unanswered 5. Makes recommendations on how to improve my overall health and genuinely seems to be interested WHAT ELSE CAN ONE ASK FOR WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN? DR. JOE IS THE REAL DEAL.

He takes time with each patient, answering questions and is willing to explain in detail, often drawing diagrams to help us understand. People may come without an appointment as walk ins but if you need Dr. Sassano it is important to make an appointment. The nurses and P.A. are very knowledgeable, though.
