My search for NEW PCP is over - Dr Joseph Sheperd!
Post Scamdemic, I look at ALL Drs with a different eye, ALL Drs… I was resolved to look for the needle in a haystack. A Dr. that is results based, not Big Medicine or Big Pharma captured. It took me 4 years and convos with many friends of the same mindset. Dr. Sheperd was highly recommended by some neighbors who aren’t gullible or worship anyone with an MD credential. I was very pleased with my first meeting. Dr. Sheperd listened intently, looked me in the eyes, was willing to discuss my concerns, including sharing medical studies about meds, supplements, outcomes, etc. Health doesn’t come from a pill bottle. I appreciate a more holistic approach in partnership with my Dr.. This is what I searched for and this is what I believe I’ve found.

Great Physician Who Cares About His Patients
I came to Dr. Shepherd after needing a new primary care physician. Dr. Shepherd came highly recommended. I was able to get an appointment within a very reasonable time and did not have to wait very long on the day of to see him. During our visit he was very attentive and engaging. He listened attentively and after our introductions and discussion it was apparent that he cares very deeply for his patients and believes strongly in giving the best care possible. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Dr. Shepherd to anyone needing a fantastic primary care physician.

Just what we wanted in a primary care doctor
My husband and myself just went the other day and we both thought he was very good. The staff was very competent. The wait was indeed long because he doesn’t rush your appointment. So take a book or go through your emails

Highly recommend Dr Shepherd
Thoughtful, caring and unhurried, he listens to you and then presents clearly options of treatment. Clearly he deeply cares for the wellbeing of his patients and applies his vast knowledge to that end.

Dr. Shepherd is a wonderful doctor with a friendly and helpful staff. He has been our doctor for several years now, and he is easy to talk to; he really listens and makes the patient feel at ease. He is very thorough with his examinations and never hurries us. He always spends a good deal of time with me, and the office staff are always attentive. I highly recommend Dr. Shepherd.

Dr. Shepherd is fine. The office is a problem. Actually speaking to a human being is made impossible. Case in point, to renew a prescription, you are put through a lengthy phone tree to only get dumped into a nurses voicemail for your doctor. The instructions are clear; leave your information and your request and WE WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK. FROM THIS POINT FORWARD WORK IT OUT WITH THE PHARMACIST. I am paraphrasing, but only a little. In my case, the pharmacist said that one of my meds was rejected. The office held to its commitment to NOT CALL ME with any information. No method for actually figuring out what is going on is provided. I would not use this office for any doctor no matter how talented they are.

Dr. Joe has been my doc for 25 years. I trust him with my life. I agree with the sentiment of the negative reviews - nothing to do with him - it's the staff at the practice. Dr. Joe himself is amazing. Things were better at his old practice. But since he's moved to the new place, his care remains outstanding, but the experience getting to him can be painful.

Office staff is very rude and unprofessional. I had an appointment, got there early and was told he was not in the office that day and they could FIT me in but it would be probably another hour. No phone call to reschedule. I took time out of my work day to drive there and back, pay parking fee and this is what I was told. I am finding another doctor.

My appointment was at 8. I was supposed to be there at 7:30. I couldn't find the place. I called the office for help, but the office will not answer the phone before 8. so I got there at 7:58. I was told that the doctor will not see me because it takes 30 minutes to fill out paperwork and he is really busy. Here is the question: if there is someone to receive people at 7:30 can't that person answer the phone to direct NEW patients. If your office is really busy, don't take new patients.

A medical request was sent to your office over 3 months ago. Evidently your office staff lost it and/or failed to send it to Acton Corp. This is not the way to do business. My husband has been unable to see the doctor because they need your records. He is needs to be seen by the new doctor as soon as possible. He did not come back to see you because you said you couldn't do anything for him. Now we need to start over-thanks to your office staff- and wait again.

I am very disappointed that I was unable to reach you nurse/ assistant today. I attempted to call at 2:43 and the phone said your office was closed. I understood you would be open til 3:00. If you close at 2:30 say that. Now I have to wait till Monday for my test results . I am angry about it. When I got the call message you were closed for lunch. Then you shut the phones down early. office staff is rude and inefficient. Gracie, Cindy and Torrie all need to take customer service and patient care classes. there is no concern with patient or patient issues. will be sure to tell everyone I know the steer clear. The office staff will also leave you holding on the phone when calling regarding concerns or complaints.
