Dr. Joseph Talcott, DO

I have been seeing Dr talcott for about 10 years. He has delivered all my children and has preformed 2 surgeries on me. He is very understanding and takes his time to listen about your concerns. Very honest and blunt .

He was okay in the beginning, would explain and draw pictures to help you understand what was going on inside your body. During my pregnancy I had started bleeding, to the point where I thought I was having a miscarriage. I had a visit with him to make sure the baby was okay, which he was. Then was told it was my cervix with no further explanation. The bleeding did not let up and I called the on call number which unknown to me goes to his cell phone. He was very rude on the phone to me, a first time mom bleeding enough for 2 periods while pregnant. Basically stated to me that I can not call every time when something goes wrong. Right then and there I knew I did not want someone who does not care about each and every one of their patients the same delivering my child. I then found a new doctor who told me I had a subchronic hematoma, which would have been nice to know from the beginning. Also to add the only nice person in that office quit shortly after I left.

He started out seeming like a great OB. Then he made "jokes" that were not funny or appropriate. Made comments at the lack of my ability to have an unmediated birth without medication, not because medically I couldn't, but because he felt I couldn't handle it. My baby was crowning before he even entered the room. Then, he pulled my placenta out too early, like he does with so many women and caused hemorrhaging. One of the nurses didn't want to participate in pushing on my stomach while he pulled on the placenta, but was told she had no choice. He lost privileges at this hospital. Part of the placenta did not detach and he rammed his hand inside of me to scrape out what was left inside. The difference in pain between him doing this and the person assisting him was like night and day. I could not even hold my baby I was in so much pain as he did this. The birth was less painful then the procedure he caused by his being in a hurry.

He is a nice dr

Dr. Talcott was amazing. A personable doctor who is honest and very nice. Unfortunately due to his office manager I will not return to that office. There was a miscommunication with my records which upset me. According to the manager I was the horrible person and never even care to hear my concerns. Office manager stated, I am going to believe three of my staff members over you so you don't have to say it. Customer service is something that the manager strives to provide unfortunately.
