Dr. Joseph Tan, MD

Dr. Tan has been calm, efficient, and excellent opthalmologist for my husband and I for many years. Dr. Tan is moving to Michigan and his trusted care will be missed. We have had thorough examinations, cataract surgery, laser surgery for glaucoma, and dry eye treatment by Dr. Tan. He relates well to his patients, listens to what they have to say, and explains things clearly, especially how to care for your eyes at home between appointments. I highly recommend Dr. Tan.

Everyone at the SIGHT MD location at Lewisburg were very friendly, helpful and professional. I have confidence in Dr. Tan and all of the Staff there that my wife and I as patients will get the very best care for our eyes.

Seems to be very through. Although this visit didn’t give me instructions on what to do, so I assumed I was as to follow same procedure as before

Dr Tan bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. He explains very little when working and most if it is unclear Visits are rushed and staff is rude. He operated on my eyelid and when I went to the follow-up visit the following day, found that my eyelid was unable to close and when asked what happened he stated he didn't know. He tried several more procedures which we also unscussful. It took 3 more surgeries with another doctor to correct the problem. The expertise required to correct my problem of a drooping eyelid was allegedly a very simple procedure but Dr Tan had no idea why the procedure went wrong. He attempted to correct my irritated eye by clipping my eye lashes which I learned are never ever to be clipped. Dr. TAN HAS A DEFINITE PROBLEM OF COMMUNICATION WITH HIS PATIENT

Very thorough and knowledgeable doctor. My family has always followed with Dr. Betz in past so I was hesitant however Dr. Tan lives up to the reputation.

Dr. Tan told me I needed laser surgery for pressure. He didn't seem to know why and had questions for his staff. When I decided not to have the surgery and cacelled, his staff called me until I told them to stop. Then Dr. Tan wrote me a letter trying to get me to have the surgery. I saw another Doctor in Lewisburg who told me I didn't need the surgery.

I spent a total of two hours from my appointment time in this office. I only saw the doctor for a few moments. He belched twice while examining my eyes and did not even excuse himself or apologize. He was not clear with his instructions and did not address my concerns. He was difficult to understand.
