Dr. Josephine Okwechime, MD

Extremely pleased and grateful for a Dr. who genuinely cares about her patients. I needed surgery to remove a cyst but am on blood thinners for a blood clot found in my heart. She was not willing to ask my cardiologist at this time to take me off my blood thinners being I was only 2 months out. She explained how much more the value of my life was more important to her than doing a surgery that could harm me if another clot formed. I greatly appreciate her and her compassion and commitment to her patients health. Thank you so much for being such an amazing soul!

I found the dr. controlling from the moment we met, quite ready to dictate the course of conversations with information anyone but a H.S. dropout would already know; so she could schedule more visits. During one procedure, I asked one related question (that could be answered in less than 15 sec.) and additionally got charged for an office visit. As a result of questioning that bill, I rec’d a threatening letter. Over all, the doctor seemed to go beyond the norm to run every test, to document every conversation (though not entirely accurate); to go beyond standard in professionalism. And that might be desired if one has had difficulty getting their needs met elsewhere. But in every area, she shined more as a business professional determined to suck every last penny out of ins. companies; not a compassionate doctor.

Horrible! What a mess! No organization in the front office for appointments. Was told for 3 months they were waiting on insurance approval for a procedure, and this was after I gave them a copy of the approval that was sent to me. The doctor was ina rush to get me out of the office. Was more worried about taking before pictures than helping me. Not a good doctor for breastfeeding moms! Once she found out i was nursing she dismissed me. I was told me to come back when I decided to stop nursing.

Rude, unprofessional, defensive.

Dr. Okwechime greeted me with a smile and handshake, she immediately put me at ease as she asked what I had done in the past for my psoriasis, she spoke at length as to what we would try, she told me not to worry that we would get the problem under control. the very least manageable. I cannot articulate how this doctor lifted my mood and spirit. If this doctor should move I will follow her practice.
