I grew up overweight my whole childhood, something Dr. Jakum never ignored... In fact, he ignored any other medical issue besides my weight. Every time I had a checkup with him, he would tell me how I was obese, careless with food, and never excercised (I was running 5Ks at the time). I left every appointment bawling because he made me feel as if I'd be better off dead. I would call these visits childhood-traumatic because they fostered a hatred of myself solely based on my weight. These days, in my most depressed states, my mind goes straight to my weight straight to his comments. The checkup after I left him, about 12-years-old or so, I was diagnosed with actual medical issues I still deal with today. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Jakum is hands down the best pediatrician in our area. He is incredibly knowledgeable, stays completely up to date with the newest AAP recommendations, and spends so much time with his patients. He is always so patient and answers all of my many questions. We 100% trust our children under his care and expertise. My only advice is to try and book first AM appointment or you will be waiting a while to see him, but he is 100% worth the wait!

Dr. Jakum is absolutely wonderful, as well as his nurse Charity. He is extremely professional, spends a lot of time with his patients and answers any and all questions you may have. I have never been to a doctor's office that cares as much about a patient as he does. He is by far the best pediatrician or doctor we have ever crossed paths with! The first visit we had to wait awhile, as he is super busy...But, I will wait for hours to see him, because when he comes in that room he is all yours!
