Dr. Joshua Tobin, MD

Wonderful 1st visit, thorough. Went in for cluster headache, but was diagnosed with many other small issues. Dr.T was kind but very focused. My problem; I was given a medication and I was having trouble with the dose, the pharmacy was unable to help. I reached out to Dr. Tobin through the portal 3 times, and 1 phone call, where the staff said they would pass along my question and call me back. Nothing happened. I ran out of medicine, so I had to come off the medicine cold Turkey and I still haven’t gotten a return call from Dr. T. Just out of courtesy. There are only 2 neurologist that specialize in migraines in Phoenix and I waited 7 months to get my first appointment with Dr. T. As a patient in pain, I feel I put in as much effort into making sure I made my appointment time and followed the direction of the doctor. I was very appreciative of the medical findings and relief of migraine. Without the med now, my migraines have returned.

He was amazing. Spent an hour with us. Asked lots of questions, listened well. Scheduled tests at the same building. Even a good sense of humor! But the next available appointment was 6 months! He did follow up with an additional set of MRIs to determine the diagnosis and I’m working with my primary care doctor to reduce my headaches.

I had different kind of health problems until I found out that I have chronic migraine. Previous doctors put me on medication that have some side effects. I had migraine every day that affected my vision. I moved to Phoenix, and had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Joshua A Tobin for more than 6 years. He listened! Instead of prescribing me the same medicine, he ordered a sleep study. I laughed because I did not think that I have sleep apnea. I did not know that I have a severe sleep apnea. While in the process of sleep apnea treatment that took about 6 years, Dr. Tobin prescribed me a monthly injection that I can do at home, and helped me using coupon for the medicine. It help to reduce migraine tremendously. Now, I do not have migraine anymore after an Inspire surgery for sleep apnea. Thank you, Dr. Tobin!

I have had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Joshua A Tobin for more than 3.5 years for chronic and debilitating migraines. He is the consummate communicator and teacher. He truly listens and is a true problem solver. I am a retired healthcare executive and have worked in some of the top academic medical centers in the U.S.-with some of the most brilliant physicians. I tend to be very picky about my care team. Hands down, Dr. Tobin is in my top 5 BEST physicians. I initially saw him in a different practice and was devastated when he announced he was leaving. I emailed him and said I would follow him wherever he was going, and I meant it. Fortunately, he remained in the area and I am so grateful I can still be treated by him. I cannot say enough about his clinical skills but his listening, communication and compassion are at the same level He is truly exceptional!

I recently started seeing Dr.Tobin because my neurologist that I had for about 8 plus years stop taking my insurance. She was AMAZING! I have seen Dr Tobin twice, I will say after having a very smart doctor who knew what she was doing, this doctor is like visiting Mickey Mouse! I see him for migraines. My other doctor had me on certain medications. They work. However, one of them we were working on trying to get off of. So she was trying different medications to do that. For this doctor apparently that was a problem. He is trying to change everything and does not to prescribe medications that help get rid of my migraines! The first visit he spent most of the visit trying to figure out how to use the computer! I think he needs to go back to med school! Also, if you visit Banner and don’t like your doctor they won’t let you change! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR AND BANNER!!

Dr. Tobin is very thorough on each visit. He never takes anything for granted always reviews my complete past history.

Dr Tobin helped to determine a problem & resolution when nobody else could bother & wanted to shove me off to psychiatric - my walking difficulty was highly visible yet ALL wanted not to bother except my hero, Dr. Tobin. Now a decade later I have more issues so will try to see him again.

I have been associated with Dr Tobin for approx. 1 year because I am doing a migraine study with him. He and Porsha have made the experience a great one for me. It is a long way for me to drive for the study but they help me to enjoy it, if you can call it that. Kudos to all for making me feel cared for and help me through some of the bad spots during this study.

Dr. Tobin is very knowledgeable and very thorough in his examinations. I suffer from a rare type of headache and he was one of the first neurologist's to help me with my condition and provide me relief. I highly recommend him.
