Dr. Joy Liu, DO

Joy Liu and her office pressures patients for unnecessary appointments and treatments. She and her office will call and send many texts. If I rejected an appointment, she’d harass me and my family to get me to make an appointment. She documents these interactions and writes false information to hide her office’s harassment and pressure in case she’s reported. She dropped and readded me as a patient, then threatened dismissal when I rejected an unnecessary appointment. She lashed out at me when I expressed my doubts about a treatment and trashtalks my family to me and trashtalks me to my family. She told me to make lots of appointments I can’t afford. Don’t worry about money you spend you don’t have and to stop being a child and do what she says or else she’ll dismiss me. Her office is very passive aggressive and will call and text every day to make you do appointments you don’t need.

You will need to sign a waiver indicating that you are authorizing them to charge $150 without your consent. I was billed a diagnostic instead of a wellness check when I specifically asked for a wellness check visit. I gave them a benefit of doubt and tried to call the billing department and spoke with the office manager, Karen whom I explained everything but is unwilling to revise the code. She insisted my visit was a diagnostic visit because the nurse, Chris saw a red-dot on my eye lid. He brought it up and I said it doesn't bother me. The whole conversation ended in 30 seconds. I specifically indicated that I’m doing this for wellness check because I needed them to sign a wellness check form for my employer which *they stamped and signed.* I went in together with my family and we did all the usual wellness check, potential health risks conversation (i.e. weight, height, blood pressure, determine vaccine needs, and immunizations). After the visit, we went out to the reception and the receptionist asked me to schedule another visit which led me to believe that they didn’t have enough time to finish up my wellness check. This practitioner is also known to charge things that is 'outside' what your original visit was. For instance, you go in for a flu visit and if you or the practitioner discuss anything that's not flu related then you will be charge for the consultation. Watch out!

I have been a patient of Dr. Liu since she was 3 months in practice. I'm now 85 years old and I do know the difference in a good doctor, a mediocre one and a bad one. Dr. Liu is a most dedicated doctor. She involves herself with each patient with hands on care.. She is personal, dedicated, and very knowledgeable. She gets to know you individually. I've had a lot of doctors in my long life and she is, hands down, the BEST. I trust her expertise as she delivers the best care for me always.

Dr. Liu is very thorough and gives you her complete attention in an appointment. She seems to always have complete knowledge about my current condition and what I need. She listens!!! She is personable. I can’t say enough GOOD things about this doctor and her staff! Everyone is professional and caring. It is by far the best doctor’s office I have ever had the pleasure of being a patient in. I heartily recommend Dr. Liu and her team!!!

Hill Physicians has looked after my medical needs for over 10 years now and they continue to do a first rate job of tending to my physical and emotional well being. Thankfully I have not had a lot of issues overt the years, but they were able to diagnose the rare Meralgia Paresthetica and provide treatment for which I was truly thankful. Dr. Liu is well known for her kindness and compassion and every visit makes me feel very comfortable knowing that I am getting top notch medical advice. I highly recommend Dr. Liu as a medical practitioner.

Dr. Liu always takes time to explain everything fully, and insures that all my questions are answered—I never feel rushed to end my visit. Everyone in the office is great.

I have been seen by Dr. Liu for many years now. She knows my issues and is always on top of them. I am never rushed, and she patiently goes over every detail of my lab results. I have a problem with white coat anxiety, and she always addresses that, so that I feel comfortable and confident in her skills and expertise. The office staff has always demonstrated efficiency and kindness. I appreciate them all.

I have been with Dr. Liu now for a couple of years. I am very pleased with the care she provides. She is always kind and loving, but shoots straight with what she is thinking and recommending. (I love her honesty.) She has made referrals to specialists for me and I have been very happy with them. (she always gives options). I would recommend anyone to try her and see how special and thorough she is. In addition, I have had very positive experiences with the staff as well. They are all patient and kind with me and offer suggestions if they can. Also, they always try to work me into the schedule when it is something that needs quick attention.

Kind staffs with warm greetings at front counter every time. The nurses there also very nice and communicati is always very clear on what to expect. Dr. Joy Liu is alway on time and listen to me patiently, she answers questions clearly and provides answers/solutions with very open mind for discussion. The overall team update information on my account with test results and follow up communication in very timely manner. Thumbs up for the Dr. Joy Liu Team??????

I have been going to Dr. Liu since 2009. Dr. Liu and her staff at Healthy Living Primary Care have always provided me with quality health care. My office visits (whether in person or virtual) have always been patient-focused with the end goal of ensuring my health is a No. 1 priority. Dr. Liu is easy to talk with and communicates in language that I understand – not complicated medical terms. Staff follow up is excellent and always appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Liu and Healthy Living Primary Care if you are looking for a doctor who cares about you not only as a patient, but also as a person.

Annual check

Not just "a" visit, but rather every single interaction with Dr. Liu and practice staff has been excellent over a period of years. My family and I have been most impressed with the friendship, courtesy, and professional and effective treatment of our varied medical/health needs. We don't freely give out "5*" rating to many, but Dr. Liu has much more than earned this one!

I recommend Dr. Liu highly! She has been our family physician for over a decade. All four of our family members are very satisfied. She pays attention to details and listens to the patients. I transitioned from private insurance to government insurance with no problem.

Outstanding staff and doctors! Dr. Liu is extremely responsive and really listens/hears patient concerns. Their patient portal communication is excellent and couldn’t ask for better doctor!

Dr Joy Lui and her staff are very pleasant, helpful and likable when you visit their office or when you call the office. They are welcoming and have wonderful attitude. I have experienced the willingness to assist with all matters of concern about my health and well being. They return calls and follow up with questions very timely. Dr. Lui is very patient and takes time to listen and explain any issues about my health that I bring to her attention. I have no problem when I need an appointment to see Dr. Lui. My lab work and summary of my visits are readily available on my chart and when I am done with my visit. I am grateful with the My Chart information. Congratulations to the entire staff for the readily accessible data that they input. Overall I would recommend Dr. Joy Lui to everyone I meet as she is very proficient with her service and make me feel at ease.

I’ve seen Dr. Liu over 10 years. She always shows concern and compassion with each visit. The front desk is always friendly and welcoming.

I've been going to Dr Liu's practice for a few years now and have overall been very pleased with all of the staff and providers here! They're very polite and get back to me quickly through the MyChart app. I feel that the providers here take the extra time to listen and address my concerns.

Love this health care provider. Office staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Able to get in for emergency issues on short notice. Staff always responds to electronic and voice messages within 24 hours or less and they always follow up shortly after a visit, weather it's in person or video call. Dr. Liu is all about your body healing naturally if possible and doesn't prescribe pharmaceuticals for every little thing. Could never find a better office to provide care services!

I have been a patient at this office for years and pre-COVID they were amazing, not so much now. A few months ago, I had a video appointment with Dr Jay and he talked to me like I'm an idiot for most of the call. When I defended myself, he told me he "didn't need my attitude". Today, I drove 35 miles, 70 miles round trip, for an appointment that SHOULD have been a video appointment. The NP I saw knew that it should have been a video appointment but did nothing. Today was the last straw in a string of failures from this office. The one exception is the front office crew - they have always been friendly and professional.

I very much appreciate this administrative team and health care professionals. I have always been treated with respect, patience and skill. I've been with them for over 4 years and I can't thank them enough!
