I came to the hospital at Tampa from lima Peru. My dad couldn’t have surgery in Lima because there wasn’t the tools for that specific surgery.Juan accept the case, so confident to help my dad in all aspects, super professional, great doctor, always helping us with everything, we felt like home. He really safe my dad’s life !! We are so greatfull with him. Surgery was really difficult but Juan make us feel that was easy ! He also follow up with us during our stay..The best doctor so far ! I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and expertise provided by Dr. Valdivia-Valdivia during one of the most challenging times in my life. Following a traumatic fall from a ladder, I suffered multiple spinal fractures and a severe epidural hematoma that required urgent spinal decompression and fusion surgery. The complexity of the injury, coupled with the extensive surgery, was daunting. Dr. Valdivia performed successful emergency Spinal Fusion Surgery on me in March of 2024. Thanks to him I can still walk! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he is also very compassionate. I would highly recommend Dr. Valdivia to anyone needing this type of surgery.

When came in Dr. Valdivia and his staff made me feel comfortable and confident about my upcoming Surgery. The surgery was successful and I my neck has never felt better. Dr. Valdivia said I would have a neck of before days before playing football ball and he was correct. Truly a God send and so blessed to have him as my surgeon. The first time we met I had a Bible on my lap and I said hey Dr. you have a lot of people praying for you and his response was have them keep praying and we do what more can I say he is the Best!!!

He listens and is very thorough!

My mom went to St Joe South for a broken c2 (also known as a hangman's fracture) on Nov 28th, she was discharged a few hours later by them without any Neurosurgeon ever seeing her in the ER. Then they wanted to wait until January 8th before Valdivia sees her for the first time. Almost 6 WEEKS after she fractured her neck!! They also told me the radiology report from her xray wasnt ready before he left for vacation even though i logged into baycare portal and saw it was finalized the previous day. When I read the radiology report and saw her facture doubled from 3mm to 7mm, I called the office to see what we should do and if we can get in earlier but no one will return my calls after two attempts.

Took over a month to get appt, which they canceled the day before and rescheduled 5 weeks later. My first visit I talked with him about the what I have tried already for my pain, told him how my pain is keeping me from living a normal life and asked him about surgery. He said he would not do surgery without talking to one of my daughters first. This made me angry, I am responsible for my health, not my daughters. One of my daughters lives over 24 hours drive from me, one lives 2 hours from me and just started a new position and the other one has several children and a very busy schedule, but she came and took the two youngest with her to the appointment. She did it for me. While there he said that he would do the surgery but that it will not help, it never does. Why even make me go through the second appointment just to tell me that. He said I should try shots and physical therapy, which I have done twice before. Never would I recommend this doctor to anyone.

I had back surgery the first week of December 2017. After the surgery I never had to have any pain medicine. I have told four other people about him and all of them have been real happy with the results. He took the time to explain what he was going to do. When I returned in a month he was not in a hurry to tell me how I was healing and what I could do.

He performed my first back surgery in 2011. After the surgery I was pain free for the first time in 17 years. After an accident in 2013 he preformed my second surgery and because of him I am still able to walk. I trust him with my life.
