Dr. Julia Danek, MD

Dr Danek is odd. She brought a feral cat she feeds outside into the office during our appt. It was really awkward. She is awkward. I was referred to her by another practitioner but Danek did nothing to treat my symptoms or address my suffering. The next psychiatrist I saw actually listened to my symptoms and then had me assessed by a neuropsychologist who diagnosed me w/ a cognitive disorder that explained my psychiatric symptoms. I’m now getting the treatment and medication I needed. I needed a neurologist, which Danek completely missed.

Superb. Insightful, intelligent, and caring. Bright. She has a great ability to recall issues discussed and effectively synthesizes. Would highly recommend.

She is a wonderful resource, Indightful, candid, supportive and wise, she has helped me through some very tough times and as a result I am much more comfortable in my life and within myself.

Really don't get her. Says/suggests things, often at end of session, that are not helpful/supportive, leaving me more distressed abt my future & options. She ended our last appt by abruptly stating my "anger is driving a wedge" into my marriage, but that she could "help me thru a separation" & "understands" my frustration w/ spouse/kids. She then asked how I felt abt her "unvarnished" assessment. (Uh, premature & extreme?) No meds for "severe" major depression dx she made, either. Distressing.
