Dr. Julia Hoffman, MD

Julia's behavior toward me went against what I expect from ethical physician practices. At a highly sensitive time in my life, just after IVF, Julia tried to coerce me during our appointment to say I was declining an endometrial biopsy. In fact I repeatedly said I need to check with insurance and get a cost estimate before coming back to do the procedure, so I could not do it right that second (it was not something that had do be done immediately). She later read a message to another physician in a different practice who I asked about the procedure due to Julia's ongoing refusal to respond to my requests for care. After she stopped communicating with me, she, without my knowledge at the time, sent me a threatening letter in the mail, which is how I learned of her HIPAA violation because she mentioned the message to the other provider's office. Later, I could not get care when my RE ordered the biopsy - insurance declined it due to Julia's lie that I had declined.

Dr Hoffman has been my doctor for several years. I find her to be very knowledgeable, professional and personable. I feel valued and heard when I express any health problems I’m having. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to my family and friends.

Hoffman delivered two of my babies. I'm profoundly deaf and required sign language interpreters, Hoffman was wonderful about meeting all my needs. She was very patient, kind and very warm to me.

Dr. Hoffman has been my doctor for seven years. She delivered three of my babies and made my wishes for VBAC possible after my last doctor said I would never be able to deliver vaginally. Going to see her was like going to see a trustworthy friend. I am going to miss her when she moves.

I would not recommend Hoffman. During my first visit with Hoffman we discussed birth control and I shared that I was not interested in taking birth control. She asked if I was sexually active and when I answered yes, she rudely said that I might as well start taking prenatals then. She also told me that I could not get an IUD because I had not yet given birth, which is a common myth.

Dr. Hoffman has been a wonderful addition to the Women's Group. I trust her with my health care completely. I've had some issues, some very scary, and she has listened to my concerns, offered options, and made the best decisions. Highly recommended.
