Dr. Julia McKay, DDS

Went to get a tooth extracted today and was a little nervous. Dr McKay was great…she explained everything to me and her assistants went over everything a second time to confirm that I understood everything…she calmly listened to my concerns about me being nervous and was great. She explained everything to me as we were going along…it was a fast procedure and then she put in the bone graft. Headed to pick up my meds now…would definitely recommend her…

Dr. Julia McKay and her staff are absolutely amazing! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I needed an implant, which was my first, so I was a bit apprehensive. As soon as I sat in the chair Dr. McKay gave me a full rundown of the procedure and answered all my questions, which put me at ease. My procedure went smoothly, and the result was great. I highly recommend Dr. Julia Mckay and her team for anyone needing oral surgery. A huge thank you to Dr Julia McKay for taking such good care of me.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. McKay. From the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. Dr. McKay was incredibly gentle throughout the entire procedure, and I could tell she genuinely cared about my comfort. She took her time to explain everything in detail, which really helped ease my nerves. The procedure itself was painless, and recovery was much smoother than I anticipated. I highly recommend Dr. Julia McKay to anyone looking for a professional and compassionate oral surgeon.

My son Michael used Dr McKay to remove his 4 wisdom teeth ( one being impacted) and I highly recommend Dr McKay because from beginning to end she was very professional and compassionate and gave very thorough post procedure instructions. She put my son at ease and I would highly recommend her. No complications occurred.

Has the mannerisms of a truck driver. Pulled two teeth and couldn't be bothered to offer any antibiotics or even a acetaminophen prescription for the pain. The dental assistant had to give me a gauze pad for the bleeding. RUN don't walk away from this .

Dr McKay removed all 4 of my 3rd molars. It was done under anesthesia and I felt no pain subsequent to the removal ... I did as she advised, took the anti inflammatory as soon as I picked it up from the pharmacy, and stayed ahead of any pain. I am 2 weeks post extractions and have had NO complications ! The biggest issue I'd had was hunger lol but resumed soft foods soon after.

Dr. McKay has done several surgeries for me over the last 2 years. She is pleasant and highly competent. So glad that she is my Doctor!

Rude, rushed, and nasty. Didn't bother to offer any type of pain reliever, Acetaminophen or ibuprofen, after extraction. No antibiotic. Nothing. Chairside manner of a baboon.

She is horrible. Rushes through consultations, doesn't explain treatments etc.

Has the skill and accomplished the task, but not impressed. Terrible bedside manner. Didn’t review treatment plan after consultation held almost 1 year prior. Sachem Dental get a new oral surgeon that knows how to speak with patients and gives the time needed to ask any questions. Felt rushed and dismissed.

I scheduled a consultation with Dr. McKay. At the last minute her office contacts me to reschedule - despite the inconvenience, I agree. At the rescheduled appointment, I wait 45 minutes to see her. When I finally see her, it is very rushed and it seems she is just quickly coming in between surgeries to do the consultation. I don't get a clear treatment plan. She saw me for 5 minutes at most (and I get charged a hefty consultation fee). This ended up being a waste of time and money as I did not return. Maybe it was just an extra busy day at the office, but this was not an acceptable consultation.

My daughter suffers with anxiety which Dr McKay knew. She was rushing, unfriendly, not compassionate. My daughter(13) was a wreck. She did not even come out and talk to me after her oral surgery. She just sent my daughter out. Her charges were over the top! Over $2000 for 20 minutes. Part of which was a $700 fee to attach a bracket to a tooth with a dab of glue. Another was a $563 charge for something that nobody could explain or confirm was done. Never ever will I go back and I recommend that you don’t go there either.
