Dr.Maendel is very knowledgeable, compassionate, competent and excellent surgeon! I am 70 yrs old. A retired nurse ICU &ER Trauma. Had a Lap Chole and went home the same day. No pain the next day. No complications. What is most meaningful is that Dr.Maendel went above and beyond to call my disable husband and at home and soon as he was done, just to let him know everything went well. Even though I had a friend in the waiting room. So blessed to have had him as my doctor. He has such a caring personality. He treats his patients like their are his family. I pray he stays with us at SLV.

Had a cancerous cyst removed. Dr Maendel was fantastic! Explained everything to me that he was going to do. Even fit me into his busy schedule to do the surgery right then and there so I wouldn’t have to make the long trip again. His assistant was very kind and friendly and made me feel at ease. The procedure went well, didn’t feel a thing. We talked about family, friends, and made me feel completely comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Maendel for anyones surgical needs! It was a very good experience.

Dr Maendel worked closely with referral physician to evaluate and perform emergency surgery. My procedure turned out to be more difficult resulting in an open procedure to remove the gall bladder which was explained upfront as a possibility. After 3 days, my only pain was incision pain and after 1 week my strength had returned with almost 100 % normalcy. Dr Maendel was very professional, set appropriate expectations, had a stress relieving bed side manner and gave straight forward post op instructions to speed up recovery and early discharge. I am a pharmacist, have a basic understanding of good medical care. I received excellent medical care from both Dr. Maendel and his supporting hospital nursing staff. I highly recommend Dr.Maendel if and when you need a general surgeon in the valley

Dr. Maendel was my surgical physician to remove a cancerous skin tumor. He was kind and patient. I had issue with a certain virus testing concern. There was an alternative testing method offered, thankfully. I felt very comfortable immediately with Dr. Maendel when I had met him for a pre-surgery consultation. He did a great job through the whole process ending with removal of stiches and follow up. Everything healed very well. I would highly recommend Dr. Maendel. If ever I needed a surgery again, I would ask for him.
