Dr. Kurek lacks compassion. I have seen her 3 times and her bedside manner is atrocious. The last time she openly mocked me in front of my child for not wanting to take a medication that made me lose my hair, telling me I could get a wig. She also put things in my medical record that she did not evaluate. I waited months for the appt, drove an hour and a half to get there only to be met with her bad attitude and lack of preparation again. She referred me to another doctor in her practice but failed to put the referral through and I called so many times for several weeks that the staff finally just made the appt for me - then a week later (3 weeks after my appt) she put in my referral to the other specialist. I would literally have to be dying to return to Dr. Kurek for a 4th visit.

Dr K provides professionalism and a quick wit to put her patients at ease. Her diminutive stature is by no means indicative of her no nonsense approach to patient healthcare. Awesome seems to fall short when describing her.

Very poor. Dr. Kurek needs to be more professional in her required duties of what a good physician really encompasses. I know we are not the only ones that are experiencing this frustration: this is the 2nd year in a row where our insurance company for disability stops payment of disability benefits secondary to the physician, Dr. Kurek, not fulfilling her obligations to fill out paperwork required yearly. We dropped off the paperwork 2 times and emailed the paperwork 3 times. This is not acceptable in our esteem.

My father had DBS for right sided essential tremors in 2015 and just had the left side DBS surgery on 1/16/19. We absolutely LOVE Dr. Kurek! Every appointment we've enjoyed meeting with her. Always professional, compassionate and a joy to see. She always answers any question we've had. We look forward to seeing her in March 2019 for her to program Dad's new DBS system so that he can be tremor free!!!

She was definitely the most rude doctor that I have seen. She took approx 45 to 60 secs and told me I had neuropathy - no explanation as what it was nor discussion of any medication that may help. She came into the exam room and never identified herself. She was in extreme hurry like she did not want to see me. It was late in the day, but that was no excuse for her behavior!! I will never go back to see her regardless of her touted proficiency by others. RUDE, RUDE - that best explains her!

Dr. Kurek has been very kind and caring in all of our visits. She seems very knowledgeable and up to date on latest advances. The problem lies with her secretary, Melody, who never does what she says she will do and even has the audacity to blame the patient, Dr. Kurek and even Dr. Kurek’s nurse for situations she does not follow through on. Dealing with her feels pointless.

Dr. Kurek could not have been more curt and "in a hurry" during visit. Took my father to see her based on recommendation from his Neuro. What a mistake drove 2.5 hours from Atlanta and had him brought from Columbia only to get nowhere w/ Dr. (and I use term loosely) Kurek.

We traveled some distance to see this “specialist” who clearly does not care about her patients. Was unfriendly, rude and of absolutely no help! We have been to another neurologist but thought a movement specialist was what we needed. She really could not care less about us and it showed! Shame on you Julie!!! I won’t call you doctor, you haven’t earned it!!!!!
