They call it the "practice" of medicine, Dr. Schourup needs much more practice. Recently an emergency required a new prescription for a daily required medication, it took her a week to write the prescription. The patient went without the medication for a full 24-hour period because Dr. Schourup couldn't be bothered. The patient only got the prescription by going to an emergency room.

Yes she is old school, yes she has her back to you while on her computer and yes I have to wait past my appt time for her. However, she is thorough and listens and has no problem referring you to someone else if need be. She is a primary care doctor and acupuncturist don't expect a cardiologist, gastroeterologist, pulmonary, endocrinologist etc... everything is specialized these days. If you need a different doctor for whatever is wrong she will let you know. She is also thorough with labs. She has helped me tremendously.

A physician who actually listens to the patient and the patient's health problems. Very effective in finding ways to either find a solution to the health problems/issues and not afraid to refer a patient to another physician who possibly can.

I had some pain in my lower right side and thought it might t go away but it didn't. I was worried it could be anything up to a cancerous tumor in one of my organs. The docxtor looked me over and asked about my diet. She suspected that it was my gallbladder and that a healthier diet (which she laid out for me) would solve the issue. In one week I was better. If I had gone to most doctors they would have given me pills to solve the symptoms and had me do unnecessary and expensive tests and who knows they might have been operating on me right now. Thank Heaven for Dr. Julie!

Wow everything good the other folks said must have been fabricated by friends? In my humble but experienced opinion, she is extremely Old School, and absolutely NOT in a good way. I have seen many doctors and she is by far the most antiquated, out-dated, miserable doctor I have been to see. Definitely not fit for the field of medicine with her high self opinion and bitter personality. I went several times putting up with it, and then could no longer deal with her. Like many of her generation, she lords her doctorate over you and gets very piqued if you question her. With her back to me forever, she kept typing and I came to her w/health issues! It was as if I was supposed to be there for her convenience? Would never refer her as it’s a waste of time and awful experience.

They don't make 'em like Dr. Julie anymore. She will spend an entire hour with you, checking everything, answering every question without the typical doctor-God condescending tone and attitude, and encouraging you to take a pro-active approach toward your own health and wellness. She asks what works for you, and writes it down to tell her other patients, and tells you what she's learned has worked for them. This is how a primary care provider should be.
