My dad has Gastroesophageal Junction Adenocarcinoma and went into UAB for an Ivor Lewis Esophagectomy that unfortunately did not go as planned. Once in the OR, they found evidence of metastatic disease. Dr. Okoroh was the only one of the dozens of doctors who took the time to really explain things and answer all of our questions. She wasn’t in a hurry and never had one foot out the door so to speak. Don’t get me wrong, I have absolutely no complaints of the other doctors, it’s just Dr. Okoroh really stood out. She has been kind, patient, compassionate, and everything you could ask for in a doctor. Though I cannot speak directly on her skills as a surgeon, from everything I have seen from her thus far, I assume with conviction that she is remarkably talented.
