Dr. Cantero misdiagnosed my sleep apnea. He was often flippant when talking to me.

Would not recommend
Options for treatment were CPAP or Inspire. Not interested in Inspire - told needed in lab study, no problem just not interested. Did at home sleep study. On follow up Dr. told me I qualify for Inspire, contrary to previous statement. Really tried to push Inspire onto me despite not having lab study. Took longer than I expected for in home equipment to arrive then longer for 5 minutes office visit to go over details of in home study. Told to bring study kit to office next day. Office called me early next day to complain that I had not yet gone to office to return sleep study. Offended by that because practice took good old time with everything but office felt I should drop everything that day to drop off study - I did later that day. Not happy with treatment by office and felt Dr. was interested only if I agreed to Inspire. Went to another practice.

Doctor Cantero is wonderful!
I saw Doctor Cantero yesterday because I am suffering with migraine headaches. He took the time to listen to my concerns, asked relevant questions and recommended a plan of action for me. I feel very comfortable with his knowledge and skills. I would highly recommend him to others having a similar issue. His bedside manner is excellent!

The best neurologist there ever was.
He got my seizures under control. Now he is working on getting my hemiplegic migraines under control. We aren't there but I'm hoping with his help they will get better. Dr. Cantero is always very caring and shows me lots of love and respect. He knows I'm hurting mentally and physically. He's always interested in my family. I love Dr cantero.

Do not go to Dr. Cantero!
Do not go to Dr. Cantero! He misdiagnosed my son for 10 years. When my son was 7 yrs old he started having seizure's. Dr. Cantero instantly diagnosed him with epilepsy. As my son grew he would increase his dose. Finally at 17 I figured out, through google and you tube, that he didn't have epilepsy he had P.N.E.S. When I came in and asked Dr. Cantero if this could be possible, he said "Yes it is possible, 50% of my patients have P.N.E.S." I said, "OK, then how do we treat it?" He said, "Oh, I can't treat it, that has to be treated by a psychiatrist." I took my son to a psychiatrist. We put him on anxiety medicine and weened him off all the epilepsy medicine. Now my son has been seizure free for 3 years straight! With Dr. Cantero he was having 3 hr seizure's a day. Dr. Cantero never told us he could have P.N.E.S. He knew that extreme anxiety ran through my wife's side. All the epilepsy medicine he was prescribing my son just increased the anxiety ten fold. The reason Dr. Cantero won't te

I felt Dr. Cantero’s warmth immediately! He hugged me when giving the news my soon to be 19 year old son has epilepsy. I felt extremely confident leaving his office with a understanding that my son should get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and take this medicine e once a day, and he would be just fine. That was not the case. He had a seizure 3 weeks later and back in the office again. He increased dose and a seizure occurred 3 days later. I made appt with doctor in St. Pete and on the day of that appt ( 5 weeks later) my son had another seizure. We never went back to Dr. Cantero

It took close to two months to see Dr Cantero, but it was well worth the wait. He took a lot of time with me answering all of my and my wife's questions. He had me do two tests that the hospital could not do without outlandish costs. Using the most up-to-date equipment, it was so easy to do and so inexpensive. He was very friendly as an added bonus.
