On September 10th of 2010, I was on a 40 foot extension ladder cleaning my friend’s gutters of leaves and debris. By all accounts, I fell approximately 37 feet, bouncing off my neighbor’s chainlink fence, hitting the hood of his son’s pickup truck and rolling off into his driveway. North Reading Fire, Police, and “Action Ambulance” Paramedics arrived. I was flown by “Boston MedFlight Helicopter” to Boston Medical Center. Diagnosis was that I broke my neck in 2 places, my back in 2 places and both of my legs with my right leg being an “Open Fracture of my Right Tibia.” Between BMC and Spaulding Rehabilitatión Hospital in Boston, I spent 7 months hospitalized. I had a “Tibial Nail (Rod)” put in. Additionally, I fractured T-10 & T-12, had those fused as well as having a rod and 12 screws put in. Dr. Justin Massengale has been treating me for 12 years now. He’s very professional, easy to get an appointment with, sees his patients on time, and has returned my calls during “off hours.”

Had a cervical disc replacement performed by Dr Massengale. I was impressed with him from the first time I met with him. My surgery was a complete success I felt the difference in my neck immediately after surgery. Continue to feel good 6 months later!
