This was the worst medical appt of my life. He barely asked me any questions, seemed to ignore my responses and what was supposed to be a first appt of 30 minutes lasted little more than 10. I was examined in my clothes- not a gown, and felt uncomfortable through out the brief appt. I cried afterwards in the lab and the tech was very kind. Do not go to this guy.

Does not listen, or communicate effectively: mutters under mask, significantly misheard what I said which I saw in the notes (which were assisted by a more technologically savvy scribing doctor). Also did not communicate things to me in person which were in the notes- including sending me for a duplicative test I had recently had with my women’s health doctor which I told him I had earlier that week. Made me come in and pay for an appointment to discuss test results. And when I asked questions about my concerns from outliers that he insisted were “normal” and I started to tear up with relief from my Anxiety he did not respond or address my concerns and literally walked out of the office without saying anything- I’ve never experienced something so rude and unprofessional! No wonder he’s so easy to schedule and had availability.

Waste of time
Saw him at his new location at NYU Langone in FiDi. No bedside manner, didn’t give any helpful answers to questions, didn’t seem to care or have any empathy. Spent 10 min typing notes with two fingers and then quickly wrapped up. Would not recommend. Odd that he joined NYU Langone - they usually have solid doctors, both in terms of their medical prowess and bedside manners.

Shockingly bad, unprofessional appointment
I visited Dr. V because of two injuries I had questions about. One, I was doing PT for a long time and wanted a Dr's opinion whether it would be worth it to get imaging or see specialist. Prior to appt, I developed sore throat/cold symptoms, so I figured I'd bring that up too since I don't see Dr. often. I come early and am called in 5 minutes before scheduled. Nurse was professional and kind. 'Dr. will be with you shortly.' I waited 45 min in the exam room before Dr. V came in. No one checked on me or gave any updates. Dr. doesn't introduce himself, or the scribe(?) that was with him. Asks about sore throat and gives me guidance + swabs my throat. I ask about other injuries and he refuses to even talk to me about them until I make a big deal, then he looks at one of the issues. The other, he refuses since they aren't the 'main issue'. I told him they were the main reasons I made the appt. Refuses. Saw me maximum 10 minutes before hurrying out. Strongly recommend against.

Dr. Venkataramana has been our family physician for the past 14 years. In that time we have found him to be remarkably calm and patient. He is an excellent physician, who thinks carefully about the problems his patients have. We have relied on him for emergencies as well as routine problems, whatever is happening we have found him consistently trustworthy, wise, and caring. His office staff is exactly the same, they are always helpful, and attentive. It is a pleasure to go to the office.
