Horrible Experience
Had the worst colonoscopy experience with Dr. Lavu. He tore an area during the exam that took forever to heal and was very painful for months. At the time, I swore I would never have another. Thankfully years have passed and I now will have another, with a more competent physician.

Disappointed
We were impressed with this Dr immediately after the colonoscopy, his bedside manner and giving the findings were understandable. Our FU appointment with Dr after receiving the diagnosis of Crohns was extremely disappointing. Assuming and anticipating educational and informative information about this life altering diagnosis and got nothing! One would think that if a Dr wanted success with his patients at least his staff would give you some time. It was quite obvious that this team was in a hurry playing catch-up.

My husband was referred by his family practice doctor for lab concerns. Dr LaVu ran some tests and felt that no interventions were needed at that time. At his next follow up appointment, I asked if there were any other tests he needed. He told us that he could do one if we wanted or just wait saying it was expensive. I’m a RN and will never skimp on diagnostic tests or treatments no matter the cost. I asked Dr LaVu what he would do if this was his family member. He replied something to the effect of not doing it because it was a waste of time and money. When my husbands labs were repeated, his doctor contacted Dr LaVu to see why nothing was being done. She told us that Dr LaVu said he offered the test and my husband declined. Yes, technically that’s true and I’m sure he documented it to cover his license. However, he failed to mention that he was adamant the rest was a waste of money and time. No one in the office will see him so my husband has not had the medical care he’s needed.

About Me

care philosophy

I want my patients to know that I am trying to do what is best for them. I take pride in trying to explain to them what treatment options are available, what we know and what we do not know about their diagnosis, and all options for treatment.
