She may be a good enough surgeon, but she was VERY
As my daughter fell asleep after anesthesia, before hernia surgery, I QUIETLY said goodbye, and cried, not because I didn’t trust the doctor; but because I was simply a scared mom. Big mistake. This unprofessional woman took my crying (I was not bothering ANYONE) as a personal assault on her capabilities , and berated and belittled me for having the nerve to be scared.Just do your job, doctors, and don’t let your giant egos get in the way!! It’s tacky, pitiful, and highly unnecessary!! This happened long ago; yet, I feel her wrath toward my reaction to my 5 year old having to have a surgery (regardless of its type) to this day!!Hopefully, this doctor has grown up since the many years that this occurred; and, were I able to verbally take her down for her unkind and hugely unnecessary behavior toward a nice, but scared mom, I would happily do so!! There was no reason for her to have treated me as she did!! Her behavior is the reason SO many people dislike doctors!!

My son had a ruptured appendix with a perforation and was admitted to Valley Children's hospital. Her expertise and bedside manner are both phenomenal. When questions arose, I always received a thorough answer.

My daughter suffered from a perforated appendix and ended up at Valley Children's Hospital. We were lucky enough to get her treated by Dr. Cartwright. Dr. Cartwright and staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. I felt that my daughter was being cared by the best available. When it was time to return for the appendectomy, I had very little concerns. There were some difficulties in scheduling the surgery, but only because Dr. Cartwright performs her miracles around the globe.
