Dr. Chang treated me for an umbilical hernia. At my first office visit, she diagnosed the condition and explained exactly what surgery she was going to perform using a whiteboard. She performed the surgery in perfect fashion and now I am well on the road to recovery. She was in complete control every step of the way. I only wish I knew how easy this was going to be before the surgery.

Dr. Chang was outstanding! She performed urgent surgery for my ruptured appendix. She was just so kind and compassionate and I felt 100% comfortable with her, even though I was meeting her for the first time. I highly recommend her!

Twice I entered the emergency room at a small local hospital with an excruciating gallbladder attack & was sent home to ride it out until I could be fit into the surgeon's schedule. The third time, my worst attack, I was told to try and make it through it at home with pain meds. When the pain exceeded what the medication could do, my husband in despair headed to St. John's in Oxnard hoping there would be more surgeons at the bigger hospital. St. John's admitted me around 3 am , and Dr. Chang was on the job by 5 am to studying and preparing for my case . After completing the necessary tests, she expertly executed the surgery with no complications & the tiniest, neatest of incisions. I cannot express my gratitude enough for what she did for me when no one else would admit me to the hospital. I feel so fortunate I got a surgeon of such caliber who recognized the severity of my illness, treated me as if she really cared about me, & made me well again.

Dr. Chang was very patient and took the time to explain to me the procedure in detail, and she was able to help me where other doctors previously could not. My surgery went very well, and she personally oversaw my recovery. I feel like she really cares about patients, some of the other doctors brushed me off but she always spoke to me directly. She was very precise in explaining things, which I appreciated.

I think she is a very well doctor but the fact that her front medical assistant is rude while you are trying to set up an appointment is what really makes me not want to go anymore.
