Dr. Karen Frei, MD

Had to wait forever. Then she just stared at me, while I was crying, like something was wrong with me. My husband kept reassuring me, but Dr. Frei had no empathy or concern for me. She looked bored the whole appointment, didn’t resolve my concerns, just changed my medication dose. She kept typing the whole time, barely looked at me and was very stoic. It wasn’t a professional distance, but a disinterested one. I would not recommend her, especially if you’re emotional or looking for understanding and professional courtesy. Won’t be returning.

We were asked to bring records however they didn't look at them. During visit the doctor was not present until the last 10 minutes. The fellow we spoke to didn't do physical exam. Only asked us about divorce history, family any trauma. I knew what was happening. When we said all was good he seem irritated. Apparently he doesn't understand forgiveness. However when the doctor did come into the room she asks to speak to him in the hallway. Next thing we know a referral for a psychic evaluation was being ordered. Now I'm not going to give a total play by play . Needless say say the report of my "past" was filled with falsehoods. Good thing my other doctors have a true history in their reports. Unfortunately complaining about this is z waste and time as doctors rarely admit fault. Not all doctors are gaslighters. However this one is or atleast with us . Please record visits. Your word means little without proof. I'm grateful I have it

I was not pleased with lack of follow up and testing but she is a very nice doctor.

I wish I would of read Dr Frei’s healthgrade prior to seeing her this way I could of requested a different neurologist to see me at Loma Linda. This Dr not only does not listen to you but she also ignores all messages and emails you send to her. Now I have to find a new neurologist to treat me because Dr Frei does not care about the well being of her patients.

Waste of time and money. Dr. Frei spent very little time with me, had a blank stare, and never really listened or asked questions to assist with my concerns. Find another neurologist.

I would not recommend Dr. Frei to anyone. She is always late and is not worth the wait. I went for test results she ordered and she did not have the results(after 2 months). I made sure she got the results that day and am still waiting for the phone call that was promised over a month ago. It is not only disappointing but also very sad that Loma Linda would have a doctor like this. She makes a patient feel that symptoms are no big deal...I wonder if they were her symptons if she would feel that way.

This MD has no respect for her patients. We drove 2 hours in hopes that we will receive enhanced treatment for our relative. All we received was wasted days with the MD arriving over an hour late to multiple appointments. The treatments provided caused more harm and good. We are extremely frustrated with the care provided by Dr. Frei.

Dr. Frei looked half asleep and acted accordingly throughout the entire evaluation. Was asked to bring all images, and provided a detailed sequential list of tests, results for her review. She took a cursory glance (2 seconds) at my paperwork and images. She stated "nebulous" concerns. And that there were no additional medical records or imaging studies available for her review (FALSE). Waited two months, spent $100 getting to LL to see her, waste of time and $'s. LL Standards not met.

I recently saw Dr. Frei and she did a very thorough neurological exam & initial intake. These days its hard to find a specialist who goes above and beyond the typical 15 minute doc-in-the-box visit! Dr. Frei is a knowledgeable and caring movement disorder specialist. I would recommend her.

I've been a patient of Dr. Frei's for years. She's very knowledgeable and cares about her patients. I've never had more than a 30 minute wait at Loma Linda but the prior office was horrible with scheduling and I often waited more than an hour.

We had one visit with her and she was three hours late. She then had a receptionist tell us she was in a meeting and to cancel our appointment. I demanded to see her and after seeing us for a few minutes she prescribed a medicine that was very contradictory for RP and would not listen to us. After the meeting we tried to set another appointment and were told DR Frei was not coming back to that practice again. This was before she showed up at her current job. She should be removed from practice.

Terrible experience. I had an 8:15 am appointment. While I was in the waiting room the staff were commenting that she was late again. She finally strolls in, 45 minutes after my appointment was ace filed. I waited another 20 minutes before I was called back and then another 40 minutes before I walked out. I am used to waiting for appointments, but being either the first or second of the day and waiting almost 2 hours is inexcusable.
