The staff is great, but I was not impressed with Karen. After several visits with little course of action, I saw another doc for a second opinion. The new doc presented me with many more treatment options and assisted me in finding other specialists to partner with me. My goal was to return from my injury as soon as possible and to be able to participate in my sports at the advanced level that I'm used to. The motivation from Karen to get me to that level was not there. In the end, I added an extra month of recovery time by selecting her as my first choice for a hand orthopedic. Don't make the same mistake.

DR. HEIDEN IS WONDERFUL!! During a recent trip to Park City, a skier slammed into me at a high rate of speed, which caused me to fall and break my wrist. I was referred to Dr. Heiden by the urgent care center with the warning that “she is so good, it might take a while to get an appointment”. When I explained what had happened to her office, they found a way to schedule me in only a day and half later. Upon arriving at the office in Heber City, I completed the registration paperwork and within minutes, was taken to the exam room where I was promptly seen by Dr. Heiden. She has a wonderful, calming demeanor and after a quick casting of my wrist, I was out of the office from start to finish in less than an hour, unlike many other specialists where two and even three hours is the norm. I am so happy, and lucky for that matter, that Dr. Heiden was able to take care of me. She is not only efficient, but more importantly, obviously caring and very reassuring that everything would be fine. It is with great sincerity that I can recommend Dr. Karen Heiden to anyone who has an orthopedic need.

Went to see Dr. Karen Heiden twice. Her assistant was awesome, she was not. First visit was rushed, she didn't ask me any questions and gave me terse answers to mine. Never even addressed one issue (trigger finger). She injected my wrist (for De Quervain's tenosnyovitis). 5 min office visit was $220 all by itself (not including injection)! Second follow up visit three weeks later (another $220 for maybe 10 min). She just said "you need surgery" and was uninterested in my concerns about recovery turnaround in regards to her surgical approach. Still never spoke to me about the trigger finger problem. She also wanted to do the surgery in the hospital, with sedation and a Covid test, which would cost way more than an in office wide awake surgery. I went to another surgeon for a second opinion. He listened to my concerns, addressing each one thoroughly and explained the entire procedure. He also covered the trigger finger issue. Am planning on having surgery with him done in his office.
