Liposuction
My experience with Dr. Horton. In 2021, I had liposuction of the chin and lower abdomen. I woke up and my lower lip was dropping and numb, Dr.Horton assured me that this would only last a few weeks it has been many months and my lip is still dropping and numb. My second issue is the placement of the “incisions” for the chin liposuction she put them on my cheeks in an obvious location. The incisions have left a divot in my cheek and a very visible scar that will need laser treatment. I questioned the placement of the incisions on my cheek instead of behind my ears and under my chin so they would not be visible. I wish I would have never had any procedures done by Dr.Horton as this has caused me much stress and embarrassment due to how my face looks.

I had a breast augmentation with Dr. Karen Horton. I chose her because of her reputation as an excellent surgeon. She and her team were professional and efficient at every step of the process and prepared me well for surgery. During my healing I texted Dr. Horton personally whenever I had any questions. I happened to have many just because I'm a very careful person, and she always responded with clear answers almost immediately. It's been almost five years since the procedure, and I am happy as ever about the results. Deciding to do this procedure and choosing Dr. Horton as my surgeon was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I went to see Dr Horton for a breast reduction consultation. I asked her up front not to say anything negative about my body. During the examination, she provided unsolicited advice on a scar on my stomach, saying liposuction would flatten it out and that it was stretched. Having just had a baby, I was already aware of that. She was also 30 minutes late and then left for 15 mins part way through to see another patient, so I was pretty stressed as I had a newborn at home who was having a meltdown. After the consultation, I emailed feedback. Dr Horton's assistant, Mary, apologized and Dr Horton accidentally cc'd me on her reply to her assistant saying "I think that's perfect, she was so weird" about me. This shows a deep lack of professionalism and real lack of compassion for the vulnerability it takes to walk through the door. I would strongly recommend finding a different surgeon.

Dr. Horton is amazing. I have seen her twice now, and she is not only knowledgeable and talented, but her bedside manner and compassion are the real reasons anyone would be remiss not to see her. Her staff is incredible, friendly and reassuring (waving at you Nurse Mary!), and Dr. Horton is a true artist. Thank you.

I would recommend Dr. Horton in a heart beat. If you have high expectations and need a caring hand to get you there, Dr. Horton is your person! I came to Dr. Horton about two years ago, after being the unfortunate victim of paradoxical hyperplasia from CoolSculpting (from another doctor). Dr. Horton was approachable, and took time to understand my concerns. I felt heard and she took great care of me, not only prior to my corrective procedure but also after. We had several follow-ups and it was easy to reach out to her whenever I had questions or simply needed some reassurance. After my corrective procedure, there were still some contour irregularities (CoolSculpting made the fat really stubborn and hard to work with) and Dr. Horton was kind enough to perform a touch-up free of cost! I am happy with my results now and how everything turned out, especially given the misfortunate of having CoolSculpting gone bad. I feel lucky to have found her!

Working with Dr. Karen Horton was amazing. She made me feel at ease and comfortable. I almost immediately felt like Karen was a friend guiding me through the Plastic Surgery process. She was warm and truly great to work with. I had a Mommy Makeover which consisted of an Abdominoplasty, Breast Augmentation, and Liposuction. Dr. Horton gave me extensive information on each procedure I was having done and what to expect after having it done. She talked to me about the benefits and the risks. She thoroughly explained what I could and needed to do during recovery to achieve the best results and I believe that I did! She is very thorough with her follow-ups and makes herself available to patients. Whenever I had a question, all I had to do was text her! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to work with her and I plan to again in the future.

I have had the absolute best experience with Dr. Horton as my surgeon. I had extensive surgery that I am still recovering from, and I am already starting to see great results. I am so very grateful that she truly went above and beyond during surgery for maximum results. Dr. Horton & her staff help you every step of the way -- i've felt very well taken care of throughout the entire process. After meeting with several other Bay Area surgeons, I knew I was in the best hands with Dr. Horton.

Please be careful. Dr. Horton is charming and beautiful, and she is a decent surgeon. However she falls short in post operative wound care which is critical. Dr Horton also did not provide me with adequate care for a surgical staph infection I suffered from. I had to insist it was an infection and not “just a blister” as she claimed. I was right. Dr. Horton is perhaps too busy to properly manage her patients or she lacks the skill set necessary for proper post operative. Buyer beware.

Dr. Horton is a wonderful plastic surgeon. She is not only an expert in her field but also caring and probably one of the kindest doctors bar none. Whoever she treats will receive her expert and wonderful care. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Horton.

I watch the show "Botched" (Where screwed up plastic surgery is fixed) like crazy, so when I was looking for my own surgeon, I had a list of qualifications. Dr. Horton hit all of them and MORE. She is kind, caring, compassionate. She is HONEST about what to expect, what you need to deal with, what results you will get. She does not push you to book right away, she gives you time to think it over. I spoke to her other aitents and they all had nothing but nice things to say about her and he

Good surgeon, though poor on wound care advice, which unfortunately greatly matters for the final outcome.
