Begging You to save yourself the frustration
I’ve truly never had an issue with a provider and if they are unreasonable I bite my tongue, but this man was on another level. This doctor was rude and problematic. He was absolutely no help in establishing care to stay on medications I’ve been on for years. Was not concerned with family history of illness nor asked any questions on that while scolding me for his opinions on scheduling issues (mind you these options are only available for scheduling through the MyChart app, which is extremely difficult and does not allow for many adjustments). He also would only refer to my previous GP as a he when I told him she was a woman multiple times. He should not work in a patient based field if he hates people.

Terrible experience
I am writing this review after hearing from my insurance company that I would not be receiving my annual $500 discount for receiving a physical exam last year, which I did receive from this doctor. I discovered that the visit was billed as an establishment of care and not as a preventative exam. I was not surprised to hear this; even though I explicitly told this doctor that I needed a physical exam for my insurance, he did not listen to a word that I said during my entire office visit. He was too busy making me feel bad that I was on my 4th primary practitioner in as many years, again not listening to the reasons for this that were way beyond my control. I left his office angry, in tears of frustration, and no closer to finding a primary care physician that was a good fit for me, but feeling hopeful because at least my annual exam for my insurance discount had been completed. How wrong I was about that. This was the worst experience with a medical provider that I have ever had.

Horrible experience!
My first time experience with Karl Taira was horrible!I went into the office with a specific set of symptoms that I wanted to address so that I can ultimately get a referral to the proper specialist. Karl was extremely dismissive and COMPLETELY ignored what I was saying to him and continually talked over me. I was so disappointed and overwhelmed after being ignored for the entire visit that I just let him talk and stopped responding just so that I could hurry and get out of there. I will NEVER in my life go back and would rather suffer before I do so.I would not recommend Karl under any circumstances and would proceed with caution if you are exploring your Primary care options.

Ageism, snobbish disdain, dismissive, condescending, arrogant. Last visit, he chose “elderspeak” as a form of communication-a form of age discrimination against an older adult with full mental-cognitive capacity. Practices prescribing PIM with disregard to age metabolism and ADRs (which could be fatal), also resulting in prescribing cascades. We employ our physicians, they do not employ us. And since medicine is not an exact science, yet a doctor’s code of ethics is exact, I would say this doctor should review his behavior (which would involve self examination-and the capacity to do so). Forefingers in front of face, wiggling in Dr. T’s direction, “You can do it,...I know you can!” How humiliating is that?

Dr. Tiara did most of the talking and I felt very rushed while seeing him. He also made a lot of assumptions without even asking me questions first. There were times I even felt that he was condescending. I do not recommend

I am very disappointed to give low ratings to Dr. Taira, but based on the policy of this office of denying patients service I must give a low rating. The SSM office at Cross Keys Shopping Center has a policy of not allowing first time patients the opportunity to be seen if an appointment time is misunderstood & will mark patients as no shows that show up to their office late. Appt. was for 9:30am, arrival time 9:20am marked no show at 9:30am due to their needing to discus their abhorrent policy.

This is a doctor that displays lack of experience for patients health, he responds to his patients of being concern with getting you in the office more times, than keeping the patient healthy. I wish he could be reviewed by the board of health. You probably could be seen by him but he doesn't tell you what's your prognosis but lets see u in a week. Its something wrong with him.

When only needing a prescription refill he needs to see you even when you have already had your yearly check up! Only needed my birth control refilled and had to go in again for absolutely nothing. I will be changing doctors as soon as possible

I only go to Dr. Tiara when absolutely necessary. He asks me questions then smirks and tells me I'm not being honest and he wants me to have all scans and scopes done again. He doesn't seem to like his patients much. I will be cancelling my upcoming appointment because I just can't deal with him right now.

I had a new patient appointment that he rushed through. I have what he calls "life threatening" conditions and take several medications. I also suffer from migraines and he told me that handle that there and if I get another one to go to the ER. Really?? No bedside manners whatsoever. I also cannot swallow when I eat and he didn't even address. So many other issues to address but not in a review. He seems to be low man on the totem pole.

Dr Taira knows his stuff, however his manner and delivery needs work. He seems to be distracted, and seems rushed at every visit. Very stoic, with a feeling of forced interaction/emotion. In a nutshell, good physician, but his clinician skills are lacking.
