Dr. Katelin Williamson, DO

My daughter had her first appointment with Dr. Williamson today and she was thorough, kind, and incredibly patient. She listened and did not rush us. It was clear that she has a desire to serve and care for her patients. We waited months and on several waitlists to see a psychiatrist, and our appointment with Dr. Williamson was worth the wait. She was wonderful!

I saw Dr. Williamson through UofSC's health center. As a student, I had to be officially diagnosed with ADHD by a psychologist outside of the UofSC system. Dr. Williamson knew I was struggling with depression and anxiety but when she read over my test results (which included an ADHD diagnosis) she felt my test scores were not bad enough to deserve treatment. She upped my Zoloft and said I probably "just have an iron deficiency and that's what's causing (my) shaking leg". This was personally devastating as it denied my entire life experience and now I believe this to be a dangerous, uninformed, and highly offensive call based on her own stigma and ignorance about ADHD and stimulant treatment. She also refused to provide me with enough Zoloft for my insurance to cover it so I had to pay out of pocket. She would not respond to my emails for over a week abt this because she "only worked at USC on Tuesdays" causing me to go through withdrawals. She is not a good doctor.
