I was Stage 3 when I was first diagnosed. Dr. Clifton waited over 2 months to start treatment and, in that time, my cancer spread and I'm now Stage 4. From curable to not curable. My surgeon was begging her to start treatment and she didn't. Do not use this doctor. Also, she called me from her cell phone, as it was breaking up, to tell me I was Stage 4.

One Visit Was Enough
When I met with Dr. Clifton, she incorrectly identified my cancer type as determined by the biopsy. I felt like she had not even looked over my file when she entered the room. When I asked her about my specific cancer type and the prognosis, she dismissed my concerns and said that we would discuss that after mastectomy and final pathology. A week after the appointment, I asked one question about treatment through MyChart and she said we would discuss it at our next appointment (in 3 months!) If you meet with any physician at Washington University, you cannot seek a second opinion there or change doctors, either. I tried and ended up having to go to a completely different hospital and cancer care team to find an oncologist who didn't just put me on an assembly line.

I saw this doctor for a while but I had to fire her for being incompetent, uncaring. She's not knowledgeable, she did not follow-up with tests results even when I left messages with hospital staff for her to call me back. She's polite, but a mediocre medical doctor. I'd not recommend her to anybody
