Not patient-centered, unresponsive
Totally unimpressed. Flat out refused to appeal an insurance denial for a procedure she said I needed. When the insurance company approved a different procedure that Dr. Fan said i DIDN'T need, she said 'oh that's reasonable' and after multiple calls and a few weeks of lost time to get a diagnosis, her team finally said she just won't appeal it. In the meantime, she didn't follow up at all on other scans I had -- still have no idea what the assessment of those are. Starting over from scratch with a new doc. Also, during the appointment she said nonchalantly 'You don't actually need a gallbladder so we can just remove it if it has stones.' Technically true, but provided no assessment of the risks or lifestyle changes from that procedure, or any information on reducing that possibility (underlying gut/hormone health/risk factors??). If you're interested in getting patient-centered care and possibly saving a vital organ, I would steer clear of Dr. Fan and her team.

I am so glad my daughter recommended Dr Fan to me. The office is so friendly and the attention the patients are given is amazing. I couldn't ask for anyone better to help me with my care.

Dr Fan is a good listener and asks very relevant questions, she has a very compassionate demeanor and I trust that if I have any gastrointestinal problems in the future she will do all she can to resolve them. I would recommend her to anyone with confidence.
