Mitral & Aortic Valve replacement, Myectomy & Maze
I am 64 years old and have had heart arrhythmias for 20 years and four ablations at Cleveland Clinic (top rated heart clinic in the country). I spoke with 9 different doctors about this surgery including Cleveland Clinic, Cedars Sinai & UT Southwestern. I chose Dr. Harrington at Baylor Heart in Plano, TX because of the risks of the surgery, including Mitral Annular Calcification. I had my aortic & mitral valves replaced with tissue valves (cow & pig). My hypertrophic heart was trimmed because of its thickness-myectomy. The maze (freezing & burning on outside of heart) was performed to help eliminate the heart arrhythmias. The surgery was very complex and risky...one doctor at Cedars Sinai gave me a 10% chance of not making it out of the OR. I also had a pacemaker installed 10 days after the surgery because of serious heart arrhythmias. Six months later I am totally fine, working out, golf & wake surfing!!! Dr. Harrington is great at handling a very complex & risky surgery!!!

Amazing and gifted surgeon for heart valve replacement (open heart). She listened and took away all my fears. Healed quickly, very little scaring, and she was always so attentive and answered any questions I had.

I had been eating Nitro pills like M&Ms for 3-4 months to avoid surgery. One day the Nitro pills did not work. I was taken to BSW Heart Hospital in Plano, TX. Seventeen days later I left with a triple bypass and a new aortic valve. Dr. Harrington was an absolute GOD send for me. After a 6.5 hour surgery, Dr. Harrington told my wife that she had never seen an aortic valve in that bad a shape. She stated that eating those Nitro pills like M&Ms kept me alive. I got there in time to get the issues taken care of by Dr. Harrington. She was and will forever be THE MIRACLE WORKER in my life when I needed it most in 2020. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

She did my triple bypass last year. I would tell everyone to not consider anyone else. She was amazing. I was home after surgery in 3 days and cleared for most activities in 4 weeks. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

Dr. Harrington performed a "Valve-saving Aortic Root Replacement" on me 10/12/16. I needed it done due to a connective tissue disorder that I have called Marfan Syndrome. She is brilliant and steady handed, operation went exactly as she said it would with over 1000 stitches inside chest. I would very highly recommend her to anyone needing heart surgery.

Very informed, with excellent "bedside manor". She answered all my questions, and even anticipated my questions. Everything was explained in detail, and she did an excellent job before, during, and after my bypass surgery.

Dr. Harrington did my triple bypass and valve repair and did an amazing job as confirmed by other surgeons afterward. She kept it cosmetically pleasing for me as she knew I was worried about that. She was thoughtful and answered all my questions carefully before I made the decision to proceed with surgery. I feel she was the right surgeon for me.
