Both my wife and I really like Des Kostakos. The office issues have nothing to do with her - all of them work for Montefiore.

Kostokos is an incredible doctor.
Dr. Kostokos is the most compassionate, professional, intelligent doctor that I have been to.

I’ve never had a consistently terrible experience with a health care provider ever. They never return calls. I’ve left messages both through mychart and by phone. They constantly get prescriptions wrong. Her staff is rude. They think they’re doing you a favor by doing their job. I’m no longer going to be a patient.

Did not wait long. Office is set up extremely well in view of the pandemic, with appointments, social distancing and masks. Info taken over the phone, so you don't have to spend time on paperwork. Doctor is very thorough and business like. Negative reviews seem to be from people who do not understand the role of the computer in current medicine, and who wish to waste the doctor's time with a lot of chatting.

Unsatisfying. She has no compassion for people. Her head was turned to the computer 95% of her time spent in the examination room. She checked me in a very indifferent way. She’s very businesslike. She just really doesn’t care.

Worst doctor I have ever tried to see. Does not care about patients. I made an appointment and waited an hour to see her and then a random person came in after I had been waiting in a room in a gown to tell me the doctor would not see me. It was 5pm and I had been waiting for an hour since my appt was at 4pm. I was told that just because I had seen another doctor 2 years ago, Dr. Kostakos was refusing to see me. After I refused to see that other doctor again. they came back and said I would have to agree to never change doctors again if I wanted to be seen. I've never been extorted to get medical care before. I went to leave after that and was told the doctor would see me now but only if I had no medical issues to discuss in what was supposed to be my annual exam. So, she wanted to no work and charge me for an annual exam. What is the point of that. I've never seen such a lazy, unprofessional doctor in my life.

Mediocre and more worried about spending minimal time with a patient. She doesn't take enough time to actually pay attention to a thorough physical for her patient. She goes through a check list on her computer and then is ready to go on to next patient. Worst physical I've ever had.

She truly has been a blessing to my husband & I. Dr. K cares for her patients & takes time with them. I would tell everyone to go too her. Thank you for being an amazing doctor.
